Treaty Drafting Competition on Capturam Foedus

Amity Law School Organized Treaty Drafting Competition on capturam to celebrate Innovation week on 22nd September 2021.

The main objective of the competition was facilitating skill development of its students on the point of Treaty Drafting so as to legally deal with such situation as and when occurs in future.

The Event had two levels, first was Treaty Drafting, where the Teams had to prepare a draft document on the given topic. The second stage comprised of Oral Presentations by the shortlisted Team Members. The topic proposed for the event was  ‘Food Security’. Two Teams, comprised of three Members each, named Team A ( Laksheka Garg, Saloni and Nandini Gupta) and Team B (Saumya Chawla, Simaran Dhaudiyal and Pushkar Yadav) were shortlisted for the Oral Presentation Round on the basis of the evaluation of their Drafts.

In his Opening Remarks, Maj. Gen. P. K. Sharma congratulated both the Teams for qualifying to the Oral Presentation Round. He praised the Teams saying, it was really not a very easy Competition for which Teams have really worked hard. He also appreciated the Written Drafts on the Treaty.

The Oral Presentations were then made by the Teams Members who were then questioned by the Judges about the difference between a Treaty and a Convention and various other issues relating to Hunger, Food Security equi- distribution of available food.
