Amity Institute of Microbial Technology celebrates Foundation Day

 

Amity Institute of Microbial Technology celebrated its 17th Foundation Day with pride and commitment with the launch of  its innovative 5G Nano Bio Technology Organic Fertilizers products for the masses, produced by Prathista Industries . 

Congratulating the Amity Institute of Microbial Technology, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group said it’s a pride moment for every Amitians. Amity Institute of Microbial Technology has always contributed its efforts towards research and innovation, which is directly related towards nation building. Amity provides resources and a platform to students so that they can contribute towards nation building.

Sharing views on Organic farming: Relevance to Current Scenario Dr. Gagnesh Sharma Director (I/C), National Centre of Organic Farming, Ghaziabad said today organic farming is not the same as was in 1950s. It is intensive and has grown with science. So far it has grown on the strength of traditional wisdom, but now for further growth it needs institutional support for research, inputs, regular flow of technologies and compatible mechanization. Further,  Dr. Sharma said integrated organic farming system approach should be adopted, and ensure that appropriate integrated packages are developed for optimum yields. Organic seeds production should be promoted as commercial venture to promote organic farming.

Dr. Ajit Varma, Distinguished Scientist & Professor of Eminence, Amity Institute of Microbial Technology shared a brief report about the programmes offered by the Institute, placement record, National and International workshops organized by the Institute, various R&D initiatives, Patents filed and research papers published by scientists and faculty members. He apprised about “Rootonic- the Magic Fungus”- a unique innovative product developed by him and his team and said, this innovation will help boost growth of paddy and sugarcane farming.

Speaking on the topic, Industry-Academia Interface, Dr. KVSS Sairam, President & MD, Prathista Industries, AP (India) said agriculture sector is a sector which cannot be ignored, there is no life without agriculture. Organic farming has come a long way in India during last two decades. India has emerged as the first largest in terms of producers and third largest in terms of the total area. Government is also taking steps for reduction in chemicals and shift of Indian agriculture towards organic or non-chemical methods in the interest of  securing health of citizens. Sharing his advice with students, Dr. Sairam said practical knowledge is important, that can be gained only from Industry and Academia collaboration. Knowledge should be converted into final product, averred Dr. Sairam.

During the celebration of the Foundation Day program, students of Amity Institute of Microbial Technology presented a mesmerizing  Cultural performance for the participants.
