Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Development of Human Values and Business Ethics in Students"

“Old roots and new sprouts’’ is necessary to uplift and practice values in life aver experts during a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Development of Human Values and Business Ethics in Students" held at Amity University. 

 

The five-day program is being organized by Amity Academic Staff College (AASC) to promote the development of human values ??and professional ethics amongst students from May 10, 2021 – May 14, 2021. The program is organized under the Guru Dakshta, Mulyapravah & Jeevan Kaushal UGC Quality Mandate. 

Sharing his views on the topic, Prof. Nagraj Neerchal, Vice Chancellor, Chinmaya University stated "Old roots and new seedlings" is necessary to uplift and practice values ??in life. It is necessary not only to be value-based but also to be value-added. We have to understand the relevance of the system of Indian knowledge. Values arise from religion and Indian knowledge system should be part of the curriculum of our institutions. In the 21st century, there has been a continuous change in career  path  and the same change is also visible in business practices also” averred Prof Neerchal. He added that learning is essential for which one has to be constantly trained  and updated. Prof Neerchal outlined the importance of  teaching values of both Indian knowledge system and the periodic knowledge system. 

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, AUUP averred that at Amity we celebrate Human Values for a month every year,  wherein alongwith providing high-quality education, importance is laid on inculcating human values in students . The aim of this teaching is to familiarize students as to how to contribute to the development of society and nation. Values ??cannot be taught but students can be motivated and encouraged to develop values said Dr Shukla

While addressing the gathering, Dr. DK Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law School said ‘If you want to enhance the value development and ethics within the students, then  teachers and staff will have to develop values ??development and ethics practice among themselves’.

Welcoming the guest, Dr. Nirupama Prakash, Director, Amity Institute of Social Sciences said that Amity has always provided education to the students along with value development and ethics development so that students can become responsible citizens of the country and contribute to nation-building. 

During the technical sessions, Ms. Rashmi Mishra, Founder Director of Vidya India Ahead; Padmashri Dr. Janak Palta McGilligan, Director, Jimmy McGilligan Center for Sustainable Development expressed their views on ethical prespectives, integrity strategy, attributes of ethics, steps to imbibe human values and amongst others.
