Amity University Jharkhand Celebrated World Earth Day 2021
Research & Development Cell, Amity University Jharkhand celebrated “World Earth Day 2021” on the theme Restore our Earth. The aim of this event was to spread awareness about natural resources and its importance.
The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Prof. Dr. Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ajit Kumar Pandey, Director, Dr. Prabhat Tripathi, Assistant Director, Mr. Prabhakar Tripathi, Registrar, Amity University Jharkhand. They welcomed the chief guest Dr. Subodh Kumar Sinha, Principal Scientist, National Institute for Plant Biotechnology, New Delhi. Dr. Sinha addressed the audience by explaining about Improvement of Nitrogen use efficiency of cereals and challenges and scope for cost- effective and climate friendly agriculture.
Prof. Dr. Ajit Kumar Pandey, Director Amity University Jharkhand initiated the event with significance of Earth as we survive on it, and the existence of life on it. Then he added a very popular line “Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan Iske Siwa Jaana Kahan” which well explained the importance of Earth and how to protect it. After that he concluded the event by talking about the Food Chain. To spread the awareness on how to save the Earth, Online Poster making competition & Essay Writing Competition were included in the Celebration Programme. Different Students from Amity University Jharkhand and other Institute Students from India as well as apart from India also participated in these competitions.
Thereafter Mr. Prabhakar Tripathi, Registrar, Amity University Jharkhand talked about the significance of Earth and said that motherland is far above than the heaven. The event was successfully moderated by Dr. Jayeeta Chattopadhyay- University Coordinator of R&D Cell and the Event was concluded with a vote of thanks of the Convenor- Dr. Madhuri Mahato, Asst. Professor & member of R&D Cell.
