Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior celebrated its tenth Raising Day with great joy and verve in virtual mode on 19 September 2020 at an unforgettable ceremony which was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Founder President Dr Ashok K Chauhan, the Hon’ble Chairperson Madam, Dr Amita Chauhan, Hon’ble Chancellor and Chairman AUMP, Dr Aseem Chauhan, Mrs Divya Chauhan, Mr Ajay Chauhan and a host of other dignitariesincluding Dr W. Selvamurthy, President ASTIF and Chancellor, AUC, Members of Governing body, Board of Management and Academic Council, Dr. Kamal Kant Dwivedi, Senior Vice President (Academics), Dr. J. S. Sodhi (Group CIO and Sr. Vice President), Mr Ashish Bindra, (Chief Finance & Accounts Officer), Mr. Ashish Singh, Director ( Projects), Lt Col Arun Sharma, Vice President (HR), Dr J. Girish Vice President (Academics), Dr Senthil Kumar, Vice President (AKC Data Systems), Mr. Anurag Edward, Vice President-(Mktg), Shri RK Jain Vice President (Construction), Brig (Retd) VK Vadhera, Assistant Vice President, Dr. P.S. Lt Gen VK Sharma, AVSM (Retd), Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Prof (Dr) Kaushik, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dy Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, HoIs, HoDs, faculty, staff and students were the proud and enthusiastic hosts of the event.
The festivities of the day began with invoking of Goddess Saraswati which was followed by an address of the Honble Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen VK Sharma, in which he gave a brief overview of the achievements of the University in the Academic Year 2019-20. Gen Sharma began his address by acknowledging the tremendous inspiration that the University derives from the beloved Founder President and how committed each Amitian is to fulfilling his vision and dream of making India a superpower by imparting quality education. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor also spoke of the transformational leadership of the Hon’ble Chancellor and Chairman AUMP, Dr Aseem Chauhan, who is so passionately involved in shaping and nurturing the University. Gen Sharma in his speech proudly presented the achievements of the students and faculty in different fields as well as the recognitions received by Amity University Madhya Pradesh at National and State levels.
To mark the occasion, the various schools, institutes and clubs of the University came together to showcase the creativity and joy of the students through pre-recorded videos comprising performances of dance, singing, poetry recitation and sketching . A poem dedicated to Mother was particularly appreciated by the Hon’ble Founder President.
The Cultural Programme was followed by the address of Hon’ble Chancellor & Chairman, Dr Aseem Chauhan. Dr Chauhan expressed his pride and satisfaction at the achievements made by the University in a short span of ten years. Referring to the Cultural Programme, Hon’ble Chancellor and Chairman congratulated the students for their sterling performancesand expressed his confidence in the bright future of each Amitian, particularly as each Amitian has the blessings of the Founder President. Dr Chauhan also introduced the gathering to the several pillars of Amity Group, who work behind the scenes towards fulfilling Amity’s Vision and Mission. Foremost amongst them is Mr. Ajay Chauhan, Founder Trustee Member of RBEF. Mr Ajay Chauhan expressed his happiness on being a part of the Raising Day celebrations. Next Dr Aseem Chauhan called upon Mr Rakesh Jain, Head of Engineering and Construction, who stated that ‘it’s a blessing to work for Amity and till the last drop of our blood we will continue to serve the organization’. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ashish Singh, Director (Projects) briefed the audience about the establishment of AUMP at Gwalior. He also expressed his joy on the manner in which AUMP is shaping up and his pride in being part of this University.
Mr Ashish Bindra, (Chief Finance & Accounts Officer) affirmed his dedication to contribute to the vision of the Founder President. He further stated that the time of crisis reflects the true colour of any organization and Amity has supplemented and financially supported each and every employee during this crucial time of pandemic. He also congratulated the Hon’ble VC AUMP and his team for the wonderful work at AUMP.
Dr W. Selvamurthy, President ASTIF and Chancellor, AUC, complemented Dr Aseem Chauhan for his dynamic and unparalleled leadership in his efforts to achieve the mission of Hon’ble Founder President. He also expressed his gratitude to all the parents of the students of AUMP and the stakeholders.
Affirming his dedication to Amity, Dr. J. S. Sodhi (Group CIO and Sr. Vice President) stated that he and his team would leave no stone unturned for the implementation of latest technological strategies at Amity and to fulfill the vision and mission of the Hon’ble Founder President. Dr. Kamal Kant Dwivedi, Senior Vice President (Academics) and Mr Ankit Kapur, Associate Vice President RBEF similarly expressed their pride and joy on completion of 10 years of AUMP under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Founder President, Hon’ble Chancellor and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP.
In his address to the students Dr Aseem Chauhan opined that the Pandemic is a time not only of hardship but of great opportunities as well. In the current crisis the Amitians can rewrite the existing norms. Motivating the Amitians, Dr Chauhan called upon the students to think and avail the grand opportunities provided by the dramatic changes in technology, entrepreneurship and innovation to create a better world. Dr Chauhan also expressed his faith in the able leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt General V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd).
After the address of the Honble Chancellor and Chairman, the Hon’ble Founder President Dr. Ashok K Chauhan blessed the Amitians with his inspiring speech. Reminiscing the early days of the foundation of the university, he shared his dream of seeing AUMP as a leading Private University of India. He also informed the august gathering about the popularity of Amity University in the USA and the increasing numbers of Post doc applicants interested to be a part of Amity group. The Hon’ble Founder President also opined that crisis brings a lot of opportunities and each Amitian should utilize this opportunity provided to us by the pandemic. He gave the Mantra of success to the Amitians - Mission ATOMIC (Attack the Opportunities and Monitor the Implementation and Compliance). Praising the students of Amity, the Hon’ble Founder President confirmed his belief that Indians have the potential to win the world by their talent and caliber.
Dr. (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson RBEF, also joined him in congratulating all Amitians on this occasion. Speaking on this auspicious occasion, Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan congratulated the Hon’ble VC, faculty, staff and students of AUMP for this journey of ten years under the able guidance of visionary Founder President and Hon’ble Chancellor and Chairman.
Mrs Manju Singh (Principal Amity International School), thanked Hon’ble VC AUMP for their unconditional support to the Amity International School, Gwalior and congratulated the University for completing ten successful years. She further said that AIS, Gwalior is making efforts to live upto the expectations of Hon’ble Chairperson, Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan.
Mrs Divya Chauhan also joined the festivities and expressed her delight and pride in the 10 glorious years of AUMP. She also interacted with HoI ASFDT and offered full support and help in nurturing the school at AUMP.
On the occasion of the 10 Raising Day of the University, a book titled “The World of Campus Placements” co-authored by Dr. Rajat Pathak, Director CRC and Dr. Anil Vashisht, Dy. Pro. VC and Director ABS, was also released. Dr Rajat Pathak, expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Founder President, Hon’ble Chancellor & Chairman, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP and Pro VC, AUMP for their guidance and constant support. Adding to this Dr Anil Vashisht, the co-author said that he hoped that the students will be extremely benefitted by the book.
The Merit Holders of the University were recognized through a power point presentation made by Mr. Rajesh Jain, Registrar AUMP. He announced the names of all the students who had secured first positions in their respective streams and who would be collecting their certificates once the University starts operating in the physical mode.
The programme ended with the Vote of thanks proposed by Prof (Dr) M. P. Kaushik, Hon’ble Pro. Vice Chancellor, AUMP.
