A webinar on ‘Online Reputation Management in Hotels’ was conducted by Ms. Raji Narayanan - In Charge - Training and Quality - Coral Strand – Seychelles. She averred about the evolution of a customer stating how they are more informed now, have more choices, they demand customized solutions, they express dissatisfaction on social media, possess more buying power and their selection is based on quality & service with price becoming secondary. She also shared customer perspective in the corporate world with hotels being interested in customer insights and focusing on relationships; looking at profit on customer lifetime value, price based on perceived value; focusing on regular and speedy collection of customer data; providing quality service leading to customer retention. Talking about customer feedback evolution, Ms. Narayanan stated that now there is an explosion of information with the growing spread of social media and hotels had to reinvent themselves to get validity and make improvement using this information. With online reviews scattered all over the internet she shared that Tripadvisor reviews are given lot of importance as it is the world’s largest platform. She further detailed those recommendations from people known form the most trustworthy advertising and how influencers gaining lot of importance. She also shared the power of online reviews as 87% of travelers use the internet to plan the upcoming trip and sales do get affected with reviews on the social media.
A webinar on ‘Shielding Witnesses: Discussion on Witness Protection Scheme in India’ was conducted by Advocate Rohini Hore - Advocate, Expert in Criminology - Bombay High Court. She talked about study of crime that constitutes of Criminology and Penology that also includes reforms in prison. This further moved to victomology that has further moved to rights and reforms of victims. The speaker delved at length about human proof and divine proof & also about chosen witnesses and casual witness.
