Amity School of Design (ASD) was established under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh in the year 2004 with a vision to be a center of excellence for designing interior spaces of buildings and products of daily life styles. The main focus of the institute is to nurture talent and impart special training to the students who are interested in designing Interiors and valuable product for better living. The academic programs at the institute are reviewed and revised periodically as per the need of the industry. The curriculum has been comprehensively designed to meet the international standards and demand worldwide. During the programs students undergo professional training for the whole semester, which gives them excellent exposure of the industry and provide ample opportunities of placement.

Amity School of Design offers the following UG & PG programs:

• Bachelor of Interior Design (BID)
• Bachelor of Design (Product Design) B. Des. (PD)
• Master of Interior Design (MID)

BID & B.Des. (PD) are full time under graduate four year degree programs with 8 semesters whereas MID is full time post graduate two year degree program with 4 semesters in all. There are well qualified and experienced full time dedicated faculty members to ensure best education and academic delivery to the students. Numbers of guest faculty members from the industry are also invited regularly to interact with the students and share their industry experiences. At ASD we have well equipped computer lab and workshop. The pedagogy adopted at the school is based on both theoretical and practical exposure including site visits, case studies, educational trips and hand on experience using different types of materials for making different products. Workshops and special lectures by the industry experts are frequently organized for the students for introducing them with the latest trends and themes.

Amity School of Design (ASD) is one of the premier institutions of Amity University Uttar Pradesh with almost 400 students studying in UG and PG programs. This school has been started with a mission to promote creative and skilled based education where students are trained to work as designers in the field of Interior and Product Design streams. From the inception of the school, a special attention has been given to the students for not only becoming an excellent professional but also a better human being. At the institute along with the regular courses, three value added courses namely – Behavioral Science, Communication Skills and Foreign Language have been taught every semester for making the students well equipped with skills related to human relations, communication and language.

All the programs have been well planned and designed to inculcate professional skills along with the co-curricular and extra- curricular activities for holistic development of the students. The curriculum of all the programs is comparable with the international standards and shape up the future designers for the whole world. Being the part of the high-tech campus of international standards, with well qualified and experienced faculty members are the salient features of the school.

Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, special emphasis has been given on practical training for which the curriculum is developed and designed accordingly. The curriculum is upgraded and revised periodically in consultation with leading professionals and academicians keeping in mind the present day requirements. The curriculum of all the programs are developed focusing on analytical & communication skills, team building abilities and ethics. Sincere efforts are made at institutional level to encourage students to take part in design competitions at national and inter-national level, undertake live projects in industry, support and assist them to complete research based industrial projects and involve them in research and development activities. Special attention is given to organize special lectures and workshops by the industry experts on the topics of current interest as an integral part of education at Amity.

At ASD we have world class infrastructure comprising of classrooms, drawing studios, Labs, workshop and library. We share auditorium, MDP halls, seminar halls and sport’s facilities at University level. Amity University Campus is a well secured and safe campus, equipped with latest security equipment and tools. The overall working environment of the school is very conducive due to sincere contribution and efforts made by the committed faculty and staff members.
