Conversely, research in Social science need to bridge wide gaps in the knowledge realm of media and communication. The changing trends, needs and technological innovations are to be further explored, learned and utilized by the academicians and researchers to enhance the research culture
The seven days FDP focuses to widen the research perspectives of the participants especially in line with trans-disciplinary approaches in communication research, and to have hands on experience in using digital tools for the research and explore the theoretical approaches in the contexts o trans disciplinary research.
The pandemic has forced as to relying social & economic structures. With this, governments have increasingly been realign on scientific research to inform decision making. Conversely much work is still needed to close the impact gap for social sciences. Reconstructing Research in Media and Communication: Post-Covid Scenario will therefore provide the much needed perspective during this online, seven-day Faculty Development Program being organized by ASCO, Noida from the 27th January to 2nd February 2022.
The Faculty Development Program will cover new trends in emerging areas of social science research relating to its adoption within the contexts of social media. With the presence of the best reputed academicians & thought leader, globally the FDP will realign the perspective of research of the participants. The program will start by introducing innovations in social science research & data mining and social media analytics in new media sources, and the technologies that have been developed for the same.
It will provide a bird’s eye view of the landscape of approaches for web and social media, as well as delve deeper into particular areas of emerging importance. This, in line with the focus of the program, will also cover the publication ethics and how to identify predatory journals. Additionally, to equip participants with the knowledge to address upcoming challenges in social science research and broadly digital media, the FDP will consider several contemporary scenarios such as use of appropriate research tools, fairness and ethical practices in research which affect the adoption of innovative technologies within various end-user-facing contexts, etc.
