It aims to empower the girl child and nurture them as torchbearers of the country. These empowered girls will make India a superpower.
In India, girls carry the honour of their families and are the cornerstones on which homes are built. In a scenario like this, it is imperative that we impart education to the girl child, who in turn becomes responsible for the education of the family, thereby contributing to nation building.
Amitasha was established on April 7, 2000 under the guidance of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, for ameliorating the condition of the less privileged girl child.
Students learn various subjects like Mathematics, Science, Social Science etc. Taking education beyond books, students are provided the opportunity to participate in science symposiums, cultural programmes, craft exhibitions et al that enable them to acquire knowledge beyond their curriculum.
From a humble beginning with 35 students, Amitasha now provides education to over 1000 less privileged girl children today.
Along with providing quality education, absolutely free of cost, Amitasha also offers other amenities as free books, uniforms, meals and healthcare facilities.
The school provides holistic education to less privileged girls through five centres, located at Saket (New Delhi), Noida & Gurugram (Sec 43 & Sec 46). Affiliated to CBSE, Amitasha provides education to girls up to Class XII with special emphasis on co-curricular and personality development programmes.
Among a list of noted accomplishments, Amitasha successfully prepared 6 batches of Class X and 4 batches of Class XII for appearing in CBSE Board exams.
