MathAmity (VI-VIII) New

The annual math exhibition ‘MathAmity’ was based on theme ‘Vedic Math’ was held for the students of Class VI-VIII. Students participated in activities like treasure hunt, puzzle solving activity and online quiz based on concepts of ‘Vedic Math’ and learnt tricks to solve tough problems in minimum time.
Inter Class Science Seminar New

An inter class science seminar was held for the students of Class VI-IX wherein six participants from different classes gave presentations on different current topics in science. Anika Vasistha of Class VI won the first position for her presentation on ‘Say no to poly bags’. Harsh Vardhan Singh of Class IX stood second for his presentation on ‘Gravitational sources’ and third position went to Akshat Singhal of Class VIII for his presentation on ‘Alternative Sources of Energy.’ All the students also took a pledge to reduce the use of plastic bags.
Special Assembly International Peace Day New

Students of Class I-IV held a special assembly to celebrate ‘International Peace’ day. The assembly commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by prayer, news reading and poem recitation by Darsh Kumar. Students dressed up as different proponents of peace like Mother Teresa, Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi and Malala Yousafzai and sung a song highlighting importance of maintaining peace in the world. The assembly concluded with a school song and national anthem.
Orange Day New

Orange day was celebrated in school for the students of Class Nursery-KG. Children decorated their classrooms with orange colour objects and participated in myriad activities based on orange theme.

A marine festival event was held for Class I – V. Students of Class I dressed up as aquatic animals and told about their characters. Class II students dressed up and presented the facts about sea animals like starfish, octopus, etc., while Class III students presented facts on aquatic plants. Class IV students gave a presentation on the importance of preserving aquatic life and Class V students depicted the life cycle of frog.
Heritage Assembly New

Students of class I-IX conducted a heritage assembly to spread awareness about the rich heritage of Odisha. Pranjal Sharma of VI delivered the welcome speech and Vedika Gaur of class VIII spoke about diversity of cultural heritage and importance of conserving it. A quiz show based on Odisha was moderated by Suman Sharma of Class VII and Class V students gave a ballet performance of Odissi dance.
Safety and First Aid Seminar New

To make students and staff members aware about small but critical measures to be taken during accidents, disasters and injuries a seminar on ‘Safety and First Aid’ was held. Renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Abhishek Chauhan graced the event and shared very important first aid and safety measures with the students and staff members.

Inter House Skating Competition New

Students from Class I-V participated in an inter house skating competition held in two separate categories for boys and girls. Mandakini house came first and Bhagirathi house won second spot in the girls category, while in boys category Alaknanda house and Bhagirathi house bagged first and second positions respectively.
Summer camp New

A summer camp was held in school from in which around 64 students participated. During the camp students learnt music, dance, art & craft games like basketball, football and skating. The camp came close to a colourful closing ceremony in which students presented mellifluous song and a mesmerising dance show on rhythmic beats. All the participants were felicitated with certificates during the closing ceremony.

Students of Class I-II participated in an inter-house fireless cooking competition in which they had to prepare nutritious dishes which required no cooking. The objective was to make them learn about nutritive value of different type of foods. A class level heritage quiz was held for Class VI-VIII. The quiz was based on conservation and management of India’s heritage and was conducted in three rounds namely questionnaire round, visual round and fastest finger first round. Team D comprising Amogh, Sumit Singh, Prashant and Ankit, won the first prize; Priyanshu, Rishab, Takshak and Akshay of team B won second prize and team A comprising ABhay Pratap, Harsh garg, Nitin and Krishna stood third.

A salad making activity was organized for the students of Class I-II. The aim was to instill awareness about healthy food habits among students. Students made variety of vegetable and fruit salads and also explained about the nutritional values of those. An Inter House quiz competition titled ‘Know your Mathematician’ was held for Class I-II. It was designed to test the knowledge of students about life and times of great Mathematicians like Rene Descrates, Aryabhatta and Srinivasa Ramanujan. There were four teams in total and the quiz comprised two rounds namely, question round and buzzer round. Pawani house bagged the first position, Mandakini house stood second and Alaknanda house came third in the quiz.
Gift wrapping and Sketching

A gift wrapping and sketching activity was held for the students of Class III-VIII to boost their creativity and motor skills. During the activity they drew sketches of famous freedom fighters and nature. For gift wrapping they mostly used eco – friendly things like old newspapers and handmade papers decked up beautifully.

A class presentation was held for the students of Class I-VIII to pay a tribute to unsung heroes of the Indian independence movement. Mr Swapnil Agarwal, Director Admission cell and Marketing, Amity University, Madhya Pradesh graced the event as chief guest. The program began with lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest, school principal Ms Manju Singh, school coordinator Mrs Prabha Raina and senior consultant AIS Mrs Rupma. School band paid a musical tribute to Late. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. The whole presentation was compered by Jaikaran Tripathi and Asmi Singh. Students presented skits, dance and songs based on life and times of eminent freedom fighters like Badal Gupta, Binoy, Durgabai Deshmukh, Pir Ali, Begum Hazrat Mahal, Madam Cama, U Tirot Singh and Butukeshwar Dutt.

The event began with lighting of lamp followed by a teacher’s talk by Bhawna Singh on the importance of childhood. Teachers then presented thought of the day, read news and cond ucted a GK quiz. A puppet show based on the story of friendship between a monkey and a crocodile was also presented. To acquaint students of Class VI-VIII with rich culture and heritage of India, CBSE Heritage quiz was organised. The quiz was based on rivers and four teams participated in it. The preliminary round was MCQ based followed by visual round. Team B comprising Suman Singh (VI); Jaideep Kamthan and Kratika Singh (VII) and Dhruv Bhardwaj (VIII) emerged as the winner of the quiz.

The topic was ‘Plastic: suvidha ya duvidha’, ‘kya paschatya sanskriti ka andhanukaran ghatak hai’ and ‘kya mobile games baccho ke sharirik vikash me badhak hai’. Akshat Singhal (VII) bagged the first position. Parth Malik and Harshvardhan Singh (VIII) won second and third position respectively. All the participants were very confident and spoke well. Wind Chime Making

The school organised a ‘best out of waste’ wind chime making competition for Classes VI-VIII. Children used materials like newspapers, bangles, plastic bottles, etc. to make creative wind chimes. Visit to Narayan Old Age Home

The school organised a trip to Narayan Old Age Home at Laxmi Ganj for the students of Class I and II. Bakshi only 15 years old, is an IBM Champion and Honorary Cloud Advisor who began coding at the age of five. Independence day celebration

Independence Day was celebrated at school by all the students of Class Nursery-VIII. The ceremony started at 8:05 AM with the Principal unfurling the tricolour flag and everyone sinding the National Anthem. Students did march past and the coir group sang the Patriotic song. Class VI did a patriotic dance. A play based on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was also performed.

Vasudha the science exhibition was organised for classes III to V. The children made science models like water cycle, life-cycle of butterfly, water harvesting, smart city, etc. Vasudha is the science programme of Amity, envisioned by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, to develop scientific temperament of the students through application based models. Some selected models are then also sent for various national and international level science competitions.

Yellow Day celebrated by Nursery and KG

Children of class Nursery and KG celebrated Yellow day on which they dressed up in lovely yellow dresses. Children had brought yellow fruits like mangoes, pineapples, bananas, etc., and they also brought their yellow toy cars, teddy bears, dolls, balls and balloons to celebrate the warmth of yellow colour. A garden with paper sunflowers was also set up in the classes. Children made lovely origami and paper craft with and did drawing and colouring. At the end of the day every child received a crown decorated with sun flowers and their faces shone like sunshine.

Mock Fire Drill

A mock fire and evacuation drill was conducted at the school to create awareness among the students about fire fighting techniques and swift response ways during such emergencies. A group of fire fighters, headed by fire safety officer, AIS Noida, with the help of necessary equipments explained and demonstrated improvised methods to rescue and evacuate people caught in fire besides explaining how to operate the fire extinguishers safely.

Plays based on the transportation system, Solar system, Protection of Diseases like Malaria and Dengue and body organs were also performed. The play based on Mughal Empire and Great Emperor Ashoka, bending royalty and wisdom was time travel. Senior students performed on the theme of Women Empowerment woven around the lives of great women like Jijabai (Mother of Great Warrior Shiva), Rani Laxmibai, Jhalkaribai and former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi.

A fancy dress competition was held in school for the children of Class Nursery and KG. The students participated by dressing up as famous freedom fighters like : Rani Laxmi Bai, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, etc. From Class Nursery Nirhhay Verma won first prize, Vani Tomar won second prize and Vihaan Dhaman got third prize. Class KG had Ansh Matta winning first prize, Sansita Tripathi bagging second prize and Anshman Singh getting third prize.
Hindi Kavita Lekhan Pratiyogita

An interhouse competition of Hindi Kavita Lekhan was held for the students of class III – V. The aim was to hone the creative expressions of children in a poetic manner, leading to the development of linguistic intelligence. Manu Narwariya of class III from Pawani house won the first prize. While Kajal Bhadoriya of class IV and Mayank Rai of class III both from Bhagirathi house won second and third prize respectively. All the students wrote very beautiful poems
Hindi Samvad Lekhan Pratiyogita

Red day celebrated by class Nursery and KG

The tiny tots of class Nursery and KG celebrated ‘Red Day’ on which they all dressed up in beautiful red dresses and with their enthusiasm and jubilation painted the town red. Red colour decorations were put up in the classes and the teachers also wore red colour dresses. Children happily observed and explored the joyous primary colour red through items like red fruit jam, red syrup, red apples, etc.
Inter-House story telling competition

An interhouse storytelling competition was organised for the students of Class I and II to enhance presentation and spoken skills of the students. Young storytellers weaved myriad stories based on moral values. Use of props combined with right expressions and correct diction made every performance mesmerizing. Trisha Rao of class I from Mandakini house won the first prize, Abhirami Sivam of class I from Pawani house came second and Kushagra Pandit of class III from Alaknanda house bagged the third position.

Visit to Sun temple

The students of Class VI conducted a special assembly on Human Rights Day. They explained the importance of this day that it commemorates the day when the UN General Assembly proclaimed 10th December as Human Rights Day in 1950, to bring to the attention ‘of the peoples of the world’ the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations. They further explained that each one of us, everywhere, at all times is entitled to the full range of human rights, that human rights belong equally to each of us and bind us together as a global community .
Amifest- Solo Dance Competition

Students of Class III to V presented a dance drama on the song 'Bande me tha dum, Vande mataram' highlighting Bapu's role in the Swadeshi movement. School Principal Seema Thakur addressed the students on Gandhiji's struggle for independence and his principles.

Eid- Ul- Zuha
"Sacrifices are appreciated and prayers are answered by the almighty"
Special assembly on Eid-ul-Zuha, the festival of sacrifice, was organized at Amity International School on 9 September, 2016. It started with the introductory speech about the festival by Master Harmeet Singh Vohra of Class III. His speech was followed by a talk given by Mrs. Seema Parveen(Dance teacher). She spoke about the salient features of Eid Ul Adha celebrated by the Muslims and other communities throughout the world. She said, these festivals symbolize the act of humanity, charity and sacrifice. After this the program moved on by a small presentation by the students of class I and II on the song- Kitna Pyara Chand Eid ka. The School wore a festive look on Eid with the students in the perfect Muslim attire. Boys were in Kurta Pyjama along with the cap and the girls were in salwar kameez with dupatta on their head in the same way muslim girls wear at the time of offering Namaz. As usual the program winded up with the idiomatic speech of Mrs. Seema Thakur, the principal of the school.
Independence Day Celebrations

The school, staff, students and parents celebrated 70th Independence Day with full enthusiasm. Aditi Sikarwar (II) and Somesh Sharma (IV) teed off the programme with their welcome address. The programme commenced with the flag hoisting followed by the National Anthem sung by one and all present in the school premise. This was followed by a cultural programme in the assembly area that comprised a patriotic song presentation by students of classes III-V, a dance performance by Classes I and II, a beautiful enactment by Nursery and KG on the song 'Hum chote-2 bachche hain' and a mass drill by Classes II-V on the patriotic theme 'Ye jo desh hai mera'. Jaideep Kamthan of Class V presented his views on the importance of Independence Day. This was followed by the Principal's address highlighting the duties of the citizen for the nation along with their rights. One of the parent proposed the vote of thanks and appreciated everyone for their wholehearted co-operation.
Teachers Day Celebration

Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony

The school celebrated its first foundation stone laying ceremony. The function commenced with a havan ceremony where all students and staff took part. This was followed by a cultural programme. The students of Class I and II presented 'Ganesh Stuti' while students of Class III and IV sang a beautiful song. The yoga demonstration by Class I to IV was applauded by one and all.
