E-Shiksha
Amity as organization not only nurtures talent of its students but also opens up new vistas for its teachers, so that they can evolve as true facilitators. So to make the teachers tech-savvy, a two day workshop on “E-Shiksha” was organized at Amity, Pushp Vihar wherein the entire Amity family (Schools) participated.
The workshop helped the teachers to re-think and evaluate their teaching styles and techniques and go beyond the textbooks or power-point presentations. A package based on Open source operating system called ‘exe’ was introduced which can help teachers to make useful learning lessons (lesson plans) for the children in an interesting way. The following tools were introduced to make the teaching – learning process more interactive and a fun filled experience –
- Open Source (blog, wiki)
- Unfreeze
- Pivot
- Audacity
- Mindspot
With more machine room practice and hands-on exposure, productive leaning materials can be made for the children with these tools.
The workshop was insightful and with a project given for each teacher which needs to be completed within two months, the practical aspect was also taken care of. Thus the two days gave enough food for thought for the participating teachers and was a fruitful experience for all.
