Annual Day: Under the guidance and with the blessings o our ever esteemed Chairperson Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan Ma’am, Amity International School Pushp Vihar celebrated its Senior Annual Day on the 27th of November 2010. It was a beautifully directed show by Mr. Faisal Alkazi. The grounds were resplendently decorated and the students were full of vivacity & zeal. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Amod K Kanth, Chairperson, Delhi Commission for Protections of Child Rights and General Secretary of Prayas Juvenile Aid Centre. He was greatly appreciative of the efforts made by the school and the scintillating performance of the students. The prize distribution for the session 2009-2010 was also conducted and the prize winners were lauded for their efforts by the parents. The students staged “Magic Years’ which focused on the problems of the teenagers. Overall it was an interesting show which brought to light the innate talents of our students and gave them a platform to highlight it.

Sports Day: The Sports Day is an event which is celebrated in-house every year. Students from all houses participate and compete against each other. The trials are conducted on individual basis wherein every child is given a chance to prove his mettle. The sports day is a much awaited event by one and all at AIS, PV.
Founder’s Day : Founder’s Day was celebrated at Amity, Pushp Vihar with a great aplomb on the 10th November 2010. The theme this year was the “Guru Shishya Parampara” as our respected Founder President sir is the teacher of teachers and a role model for every Amitian. The Founder President graced the occasion along with our ever esteemed Chairperson ma’am. They were accompanied by Divya Chauhan Ma’am and her twin daughters who showed us another dimension of our Founder President Sir – his immense love for his grandchildren.
The “Balmela’ which is celebrated as an extension of the Founder’s Day was also celebrated Founder President Sir took a round of the resplendently decorated ground and released balloons to initiate the programme. From the balcony on the third floor he took the salute of the students and appreciated the various formations made by them. The presentation was unique and the students created the message for their beloved Founder President Sir.
SPIC MACAY: THE DIVINE DANCE DRAMA!
On 28th September 10, Amity, Pushp Vihar organized a Mohiniattam dance performance to the accompaniment of musical instruments by a team from SPIC MACAY. It was headed by Ms. Deepti Omcherry Bhalla, a renowned dancer who has specialized in Mohiniattam. The show began after a warm welcome and lighting of the lamp ceremony.
Mrs. Bhalla is an excellent speaker who began with a detailed explanation of Mohiniattam, a dance form indigenous to Kerala. She told the students that it is originally a solo dance, which reflects nature’s beauty in keeping with a devotional theme.
Mrs. Bhalla reverently introduced each musical instrument and musician accompanying her. First she described the MRIDANGAM being, played by Metri Bhupathe. “Mrid refers to earth & angam refers to body, thus making MRIDANGAM, and instrument shaped out of earth, and taler, carved out of wood. It resembles a drum with left board for providing with rhythm and the right board with the purpose of resonance.
Next she described the veena, a stringed instrument, played by Mrs. Geeta Mohan. It is generally associated with Goddess Saraswati who plucks the strings to produce different notes. The structure basically is a long stem attached to a ½ bowl called kudamb to which strings are fretted.
Lastly she went on to explain ALAKYA, a double cone like instrument attached to 64 balls held by 4 pegs symbolizing Vedas, the 64 arts in the world. Due to a devotional Hindu Trinity appear, it is prohibited from being kept on the ground.

Special Events:
- Handloom Week (December 2010): Amity has always believed in expanding the horizons of knowledge. In keeping with that tenet Amity International School Pushp Vihar has organized a ‘Handloom Week’ where in a spinning wheel & a loom has been placed in the school to practically exhibit their usage to the students.

Earth Day was celebrated by showing the movie an ‘Inconvenient Truth’ by AlGore to enhance awareness towards taking care of Mother Earth.

Ramleela: In the light of our Honourable Founder President’s vision of amalgamation of traditional and modern educational values,Amity International Pushp Vihar, celebrated Ramleela consecutively for six days from 23rd September to 30th September . It was a splendid show put up by the tiny tots. Children from all the six sections of KGs presented various episodes of Ramayana on each of these six days respectively. The Ram Leela commenced with birth of Lord Rama in Adi Kaand followed by Ayodhya , Aranya, Kishkindha Sundar and Yuddh Kaand wherein the effigy of Ravana was struck down by Lord Rama,thus, epitomizing the victory of good over evil. Besides the religious significance, this occasion was very pertinent as it was also an opportunity showcasing brilliant oratory and theatrical skills of the little ones.
