A VERY SPECIAL DAY

      Our Chairperson Maam’s birthday was celebrated at AIS, Pushp Vihar on 2nd of April, 2006 with a lot of sprit and verve. A ‘hawan’ was held in the morning to seek the blessings of the Almighty God. Chairperson Ma’am participated in it along with the children who all wished her many happy returns for the day. She was then taken to the auditorium where a programme had been organized in her honour. The program began with lighting of lamp and the chanting of the holy ‘shlokas.’. A beautiful card was presented to her from the staff along with a bonsai followed by a beautiful hand made lotus which contained cards from all the classes duly signed by her loving Amitians. There were birthday songs sung by the school choir followed by ‘A Famed Name’ an acronym presentation of her name. A short skit on the values, which she revers, titled ‘Venerable Values’ was also enacted. An extraordinary interesting quiz was conducted by Mrs. Kirti Tandon titled ‘know your Chairperson Ma’am quiz’. Everyone enjoyed it and the answers were confined by no other than the Chairperson Ma’am itself. The program ended with the thoughts of the Chairperson Ma’am who heartily applauded the efforts of the staff and the children. During the day chocolate were distributed amongst children. It was indeed a very special day for one and all!

BEACH PARTY

     The much awaited ‘Beach Party’ was finally celebrated on the 14th July by the Nursery children. They came dressed to the hilt in bright swimming costumes, sarongs, straw, garlands and funky sunglasses!

The children were taken to the lawns which had large wooden cut outs of ‘waves’ and yachts to recreate a beach scene. They thoroughly enjoyed dancing and getting wet in the artificial rain. Afterwards they changed and ate a hearty meal of sandwiches, chips, frooti and ice-cream.
The children were given a worksheet to colour and they took home a beach ball. It was a day, the little ones will not forget for a long long time.
     Values being a major part of each Amitian, the Kindergarten children of Amity, Pushp Vihar had ‘Cleanliness Drive’ in school on the 24th July 2006. Children carried various banners and cut-outs indicating the importance of cleanliness in surroundings, school, home and also of personal hygiene. There was 100% participation by the children of all the six KG sections. Each of the six sections marked a certain area for their own section in the school and they presented their views on cleanliness there for the benefit of children and teacher of the other classes.

     During the break, the children went around telling their seniors on how to take care of the school and to maintain the cleanliness around them. It was a very good experience for the children to learn important values and also for them to boost up their confidence as they went around the school during their presentation.

All the children enjoyed the activity to the fullest and made the most of it.

Janamashtmi Celebrations

     The ‘Janamashtmi Celebrations’ for Nursery children were held on the 10th of August 2006. There was an air of festivity and excitement all over the school. It appeased as if the whole of ‘Brijdham’ had come alive at Amity, Pushp Vihar with ‘Gops’, Gopis, gvalas’, ‘Radha’, ‘Krishnas’ and even Kansa’s. They were all dressed as characters from Krishna Leela. It was an enjoyable experience to hear them speak of the character they were dressed as.

A sumptuous meal consisting of poori aloo, rasgullas, juice, fruits followed by the Panjeeri Prasad was served to the children at school.

At the end of the day were given attractively decorated, colorful ‘Matkis’ and ‘Bansuris’ as return gifts. IT was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all the tiny tots.

     The Nursery celebrated “Color Day” on 11th August 2006. The chosen colours were saffron, white and green. The children were asked to dress up in any one of these colours and carry the same coloured food items in their tiffin. It was a treat to see the innovations made by their mothers in their tiffins. There were tricolor sandwiches, colorful pooris and tricolour pulao with a variety of other sumptuous snacks. Altogether it was a enterprising idea which involved the children, their families and teachers and each one of them enjoyed doing their bit.

TEACHER’S DAY

     A day of nostalgia, a day of fun with something for everyone. The students were full of joy, the teachers enjoyed and the atmosphere was full of spirit and verve. The Teacher’s Day was celebrated at AIS, PV with aplomb. The students had made tremendous efforts to prepare a unique programme. They performed and made their teachers perform and the air resounded with their cheers and laughter. The celebrations began with the lighting of the lamp and a bouquet presentation to the staff by the students. The programme included a beautifully choreographed dance on a medley of songs, a laughter challenge excerpt, an antakshri between students and teachers, songs by the choir and so on. Even thought the day was hot no one minded the heat. The teachers looked smart and chic and in the pink of health (pink being the color code for the day). The Chairperson Ma’am came to address the teachers. She was highly appreciative of her staff and saluted the noble cause of teaching. She was very encouraging and motivating. Dr. T.P.S. Chauhan to shared thoughts with the teachers. This was followed by a exotic staff lunch organized by the school.

SPICMACAY

     Culture tradition and heritage are the tenets which are always upheld at AIS (PV). Following the footsteps of our Founder President sir , Chairperson Ma’am we try to keep this torch alive, which enlightens and paves the way for our students and teachers them to appreciate the rich and glorious heritage of our country. Under the aegis of ‘SPIC MACAY’.

     AIS (PV) arranged for a mohimiattam recited by Dr. Deepti Omcherry Bhalla who came fully equipped with her troupe of eminent artistes. Whe gave a scintillating performance and discussed the various ‘Bhawas’ and ‘Mudras’ with students. She also taught them the ‘taala’ or the heart of Mohimiattam. It was indeed a pleasure to watch her breathtaking performance which held all teachers and students spellbound.


SHATRANJ KE KHILADI

     Amity International Pushp Vihar for the first time conducted an ‘Inter School Chess Tournament’ in keeping with their Founder’s Day celebrations. The competition was declared open by our esteemed chairperson Dr. Mrs. Ameeta Chauhan who was accompanied by our Vice Principal Mrs. Ameeta Mohan for the lighting of the lamp ceremony. 150 children from over 20 schools in the age group of 9 to 14 participated with great enthusiasm and gusto. The Tournament was a grand success and carried over smoothly over a span of 3 days under the able guidance of Mr. K. C. Joshi. The excitement in the air was indeed palpable Amity International School, Saket emerged victorious in the great cerebral sport with their skilful any dynamic moves.

BAL MELA

     To highlight the importance of villages in our modern hectic lives AIS, PV decided to keep back to the village’ as the theme for their ‘Bal Mela’ held from 15 – 17 November, 2006. Students had a hands down experience of village life as the Amity Village was a typical ‘Gaon’ fully equipped with the panchayat, chaupal, huts made with mud & straw, farm animals like goats, hens, camel, horse added to its rustic charm. The popcorn popper, mehndiwali & community eating too formed an integral part of this unique setup. Girls from ‘Amitasha’ an institution for the under privileged girl child, particularly enjoyed the objects displayed on sprawling fields of lush green grass & under the warm sun & blue sky.

Carnival -2007 - “The Blossom Fiesta

     With the blessings of our Chairperson Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan Ma’am and under the able guidance of our Vice Principal Mrs. Ameeta Mohan Ma’am and to celebrate the culmination of the current academic session, Amity, Pushp Vihar held their grand annual feature – The Carnival on 17.02.2007 which was appropriately christened “The Blossom Fiesta".

To involve each child & parent alike and in order to let their competitive sprits soar, several games and events had been organized like the Fancy Dress and Dimpled Chin competition and Made for each other, to name a few. The highlight of the day came in the form enthusiastic dads taking part in the ‘Talented Dad’ show where they got the opportunity to showcase their hidden attributes. The delicious food stalls and hair-raising rides proved to be a great crowd puller. The efforts put in jointly by the students & teachers were all appreciated by all and resulted in making the fete a grand success.

Annual Prize Distribution

Amity International School, Push Vihar held their ‘Annual Prize Distribution’ function on 17th march 2007. The hard work of scholar was duly appreciated and applauded by presenting each with a trophy under various academic categories. With the blessing of and under the guidance of our Chairperson Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan Ma’am, prizes were given to deserving children by the esteemed Chairperson herself accompanied by Dr.T.P.S. Chauhan and Mrs. Ameeta Mohan, Vice Principal. Highlight of this memorable morning came in the form of synchronized sports displays, scintillating dance performances and through song recitals by our very own talented music choir.

A gathering of proud parents and grand parents was present to witness this touching moment & encourage these truly deserving groups of ‘Young Amitian’.
