Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the mind is a creative problem solving competition for students of all ages. Teams of students select a problem, create a solution, and then present their solution in a competition against other terms in the same problem and division. Students work in team of upto 7 members under the guidance of a coach. Team spends weeks or months, at their won pace, creating solutions to long term problems.

The Regional fair of Odyssey of mind was held in AIS, Mayur Vihar on 23-24 Jan 2012. There were fine problems. In each problem, there were two groups of different division from AIS, PV who participated in the regional fair competition. Out of 10 groups of AIS,PV 2 groups bagged the 1st Prize in their divisions of the respective problems. 3 other groups bagged the 2nd Prize.

The first prize children got gold medals and certificates. The second prize children got silver medals and the certificates in the Valedictory Function held on 24th Jan 2012 held at AIS, Mayur Vihar after the performances of the groups. Participation certificates were given to all the other groups who did not bag the first or second prize.
The Gold medal winners in each problem will get invitation for International Fair in May 23 – 27 2012 in 10 WA University.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN CO CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

• Amity International School, Pushp Vihar has been conferred the ISA (International School Award) by the British Council.
• A certificate of Affiliation was issued by Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the department of science and technology, GOI to The Pathfinder Science Club AISPV, for fulfilling the norms laid down by Vigyan Prasar to be eligible to the membership of VIPNET on March 31, 2008.
  
  


• Simran Sachdeva, winner of the Global Times Youth Icon Award 2009- 2010
• A group of class VII students had gone to National Science Center to present a skit on Hepatitis Virus. They cleared the zonal with flying colors and represented Delhi state for the same. They bagged the first prize which comprised of a Trophy, individual certificated and a cash award of Rs. 3000/-
• In the 26th Maths Talent Test 2010 –‘ Virtuosity’ hosted by Manas Sthali School on 30th January.
  • Rishank Pandey (class VII) and Isha Swaroop (class IX) bagged the silver trophy.
  • Rajnandini Mukharjee (class VII), Divyansh Gupta (class IX) and Kunal Sulekh (class VII) bagged the bronze trophy.
• Shreya Sahni and Chavi Sehel of class IX bagged the I prize in a quiz competition held on Hepatitis Day at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences on Dec. 4, 2010.
• Siddhant Verma of V B was the proud recipient of Merit Prize for UCMAS, 5th state level on 18th April.
• In the Karate all India 6th KO Taka’s Cup championship held on 24-25 April 2010. The following students bagged the prized.

• At the MTNL Perfect Health Mela 2010 held on 27th October 2010, AISPV.

Ramanujan Int. Math Olympiads: : Ramanujan Inter-school Mathematics competition 2009 was held from 21 Dec. to 23 Dec 2009 on Problem Solving (Individual Level Competition) classes 4,5,6,7, and 8.
