SWISS LETTER EXCHANGE
Developing inter-cultural bond and strngthening global relationship have been a regular feature in Amity curriculum and various programmes have thus been introduced at various levels of Amity, PV curriculum for the same. The unique Swiss Letter Exchange Programme is one such endeavour started from January,2010 and is still going strong. The letter exchange programme has generated a lot of interest among the students and they are taking keen interest in writing he letters. Through this programme they have come to know a lot about each others culture, life style as well as about the education system followed in both the parts. The seniors (class- X) also did a 'India In A Box' and 'Switzerland In A Box' project, in which they exchanged small gift items highlighting each others culture and also unique to their respective countries.
AFS PROGRAMME
In our AFS PROGRAMME 16 students came for 6 weeks and 3 students for a year to learn Hindi Programme. The teaching pedagogy imbibes an international flavour as students from different countries interact and mingle with resident students, giving them an insight into classrooms outside their country. The students are engaged not only in class room studies mainly learning Hindi communication skill, Hindi alphabet etc. but were also given the opportunity to get well acquainted with Indian culture and tradition through various innovative activities.
The first prize children got gold medals and certificates. The second prize children got silver medals and the certificates in the Valedictory Function held on 24th Jan 2012 held at AIS, Mayur Vihar after the performances of the groups. Participation certificates were given to all the other groups who did not bag the first or second prize.
The Gold medal winners in each problem will get invitation for International Fair in May 23 – 27 2012 in 10 WA University.
MUN 2011-12
The United Nations is one of the most prestigious global institutions, in charge of maintaining international peace and security through international diplomatic negotiations and relationships. There was an overwhelming response for both committees, the General Assembly as well as the Security Council. The agendas were related to some of the common vices that plague the modern world; “Exploitation of women in armed conflict” in the General Assembly, and “Nuclear Terrorism” for the Security Council. The committees were chaired by the students themselves. Kritika Dhawan was the chairperson for the General Assembly, and was aided by Nikita Kapoor (Committee Guide) and Pratibha Nigam (Rapporteur). The Security Council had an all-boys executive board, with Kunal Taneja as the chairperson, and was helped by Anchit Som (Committee Guide) and Rahul Krishna(Rapporteur) The Secretary General for the intra school MUN was Kaveri Modayil, and the Deputy Secretary General was Simran Sachdeva.
Kochi MUN 2011 organized by St. Teresa College Kochi Rahul Krishna of class IX bagged the best delegate award and in AIMUN 2011 both Kunal Taneja, class X and Rahul Krishna received high commendations as delegates.
