10th YRoNS Conference at Norway

School Principal Anshu Arora along with 10 students from Amity Group of Schools participated in the 10th International Conference, Young Researchers in Natural Science (YRoNS) held at Arendal Videregaende Skole, Norway from April 24- 28, 2017. The theme for this year's coveted symposium 'Energy for the future', was organised under the aegis of Amity Educational Resource Centre (AERC). Team Amity India gave presentations on topics such as Battery Mould, Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Algae on urban walls, Green Electricity, Conservation, Biofuel production by algae treatment, etc. which were highly appreciated by the International audience for their innovative matter and research.

Prerna Diwas Celebrations

The school celebrated Prerna Diwas to commemorate Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan on her birthday on May 4, 2017. The school teams exhibited their Earth Week projects. The highpoint of the celebration was the interactive session between the Chairperson and the students. She recounted anecdotes from her childhood which offered a personal reiteration to the virtues, all Amitians should imbibe.

Yuva Vichar Manch

The school participated in the grand finale of seventh Amity Yuva Vichar Manch on May 11, 2017. The students from all Amity International Schools discussed, deliberated and debated on the current issue of 'Gender equality through performance or reservation'. The school auditorium was converted into a Parliament and the session incorporated all the proceedings of the Parliament like introduction of bill, clause by clause discussion, voting and zero hour. The session ended with prize distribution ceremony in nine categories including 'Most Humorous Parliamentarian', 'Best Orator', 'Top Informed Parliamentarian', 'Best Question Raised', etc.

Junior Prize Distribution Ceremony

The school organised its annual prize distribution ceremony for Class Nursery to V students to felicitate them for their achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. Pawan Sharma, President, Haryana Archery Association graced the occasion as the chief guest. The programme commenced with lamp lighting ceremony followed by a dance performance by the students. The ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by Nina Soni, junior Headmistress.

Engineering Taster Session

Date: April 11, 2017 Science students of Class XI and XII participated in an Engineering Taster Session held at AIS PV organised under the aegis of ACCGC. The session was conducted by Prof Stephen Watts, Head of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Cardiff University. The workshop’s objective was to give opportunity to the students to go through a taster lecture session and participate in a project conducted by Prof Watts.

The school bagged a consolation prize in the inter-Amity drama competition organised by AIS MV to develop dramatic skills and acting ability among students. The participants dressed in vibrant costumes enthralled the audience with their theatrical skills. The vote of thanks was given by the school Principal Priyanka Mehta.

Citation Ceremony

The school's citation ceremony commenced with lamp lighting ceremony. Students were presented with citation by Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan that captured the essence of their school life. They shared nostalgic memories of the school and thanked their alma mater for their support and love. School Principal wished students good luck for all their future ventures.

The school art faculty and a group of students participated in the fourth Art & Sculpture Camp in their respective schools on the theme 'Incredible India'. Each team comprising 3 students and a teacher-in-charge worked on a masterpiece during the camp. The artwork titled 'Walls of my Native Place- West Bengal' signifying the famous Shanti Niketan Ashram won Second prize in the competition.

Investiture Ceremony

The members of the newly selected student council were adorned with sashes and badges. Head boy Vaibhav Bhat and Head girl Ria Aggarwal took oath and promised to work with sincerity and hard work. School Principal congratulated the council members and encouraged them to work in sync to uphold the values of the school.

Mock Parliament Session

The school organised a Mock Parliament session for Class VII students on December 23, 2016. The Parliament session started with an oath of affirmation followed by a two minute silence as tribute to Jayalalitha, CM, Tamil Nadu and the martrys of the terrorist attacks in J&K. The session saw discussion on the issue of demonetization and the burning issue of cross border terrorism.

Annual Military Training Camp

The school organized the Annual Military Training Camp for the students of Class IX and X on December 18-23, 2016 at Manesar. Gen VN Sharma, former Chief of Army staff was the chief guest on the occasion. The week long camp saw students participating in various activities like shooting, rappelling, rock climbing, parasailing, etc. The event culminated with Kasam Parade on December 23, 2016.

Annual Day

Senior Annual Day of the school was celebrated on November 12, 2016. The highlight of the evening was the music & dance extravaganza 'Sambhav- The Road Untrodden' which left the audience spell bound. Prestigious trophies were awarded to the bright students. Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson Amity Group of Schools & RBEF applauded the efforts of the students and congratulated the winners.

Founder's Day

The school celebrated the birthday of Dr Ashok K. Chauhan celebrated as Founder's Day on November 3, 2016. The occasion was graced by the presence of Founder President and Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Amity Group of Schools & RBEF. The students of Class X who secured 10 CGPA were felicitated for their meritorious achievements. The school choir group also presented an inspiring song in honour of the Founder President which was appreciated by everyone.

Felicitation Ceremony of Sports Stars

A felicitation ceremony was organised in Amity University, Noida on October 22, 2016 to laud the efforts of achievers in various sports competitions held at national and international level. Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF applauded the efforts of the students by presenting them with trophies and certificates.

Amity Yuva Vichaar Manch

Amity Yuva Vichar Manch is a forum provided by Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan wherein the students and teachers across Amity, discuss and debate on various scientific and technical issues of importance. This year-long programme comprises five stages, viz., essay writing competition, group discussions, debating sessions, power point presentations based on the compilation of case studies and concludes with the most elaborative Youth Parliament that also involves understanding of parliamentary procedures. AIS Gur 43 participated in the sixth AYVM held at AIS Noida. The event organised under the aegis of Amity's Children Science Foundation (CSF), saw students slip into the shoes of parliamentarians as they discussed different topics like - Is academic talent of more worth than sporting talent, Odd-Even scheme, No Junk Food bill etc. The school won many other awards in various categories. Mehul Kumar was awarded the Best Prepared parliamentarian. The Best Question award went to Vaibhav Bhatt and Doyita Mukherjee. Damini Mehta received the Best Answer award.

Independence Day

Independence Day was celebrated in the school on 13.8.09. The national flag was hoisted by the Principal Mrs. Nandita Sahu in front of the entire student body who took the salute from the students of the ACC. The students took the national pledge. The national song was sung and there were motivational; speeches delivered by senior students in English and Hindi. The Principal addressed the students encouraging the spirit of nationalism and motivated them to serve the country.


The special assembly for Janamasthami was held on 13.8.09 for students? form classes Nursery ? II. The assembly was presented by the Nur.-KG-II students. It was an enthralling display of music & dance which captivated all. The Principal congratulated the students and emphasized the fact that good always prevails over evil, hence we all should aim to do good and embrace truthfulness.

Mathamity for classes II-IV was held on 11.08.09. There were two parent judges and three school teachers who judged the entire event class wise. Students had put in a lot of hard work in displaying their projects. The topics of classes were:
Class II ? Solar System
Class III - Agriculture
Class IV - Animal & Plant Kingdom
Each class presented projects in groups of 4 ? 5 students and every student participated in the event. This was appreciated by the judges.

The Student Council took their pledge on 10.8.09 in the School assembly. The Principal, Nandita Sahu took the oath of allegiance for the Office Bearers. The Head Boy and the head Girl along with the other council members promised to respect and care for their parents, teachers and country. They pledged to live up to the ideals of our Founder President Sir and Hon?ble Chairperson Ma?am. The Principal congratulated the new Council and motivated the students to accept the responsibility with their authority.
