Since the inception of the Amity Institute of Phytochemistry & Phytomedicine (AIP&P) in the year 2010, the institute has been striving hard to provide innovative solutions for some pressing problems of society. AIP&P being a research and innovation driven institute, it has developed several indigenous technologies focussing on societal benefit like Biodegradable Plastic, Vegetarian Capsules, Herbal Shampoo, Herbal Hair Dye, Herbal Hair Colour, Herbal Sunscreen, Self Defence Spray, Cling Films, Anti-Diarrheal Formulation etc.
The core research areas of the Institute are Natural Product Chemistry, Phytoformulations, Applied Carbohydrate Chemistry, Drug Discovery, Medicinal & Synthetic Chemistry.
Currently the institute is running Ph.D. Programme (Full and Part time) in Natural Product Research.
Additionally, students of U.G. and P.G. have completed their dissertation work covering different aspects of Natural Product and applied Carbohydrate Chemistry as follows:

Dr. Harsha Kharkwal has over 20 years’ experience in Research from leading Research Institutes in India. Dr. Harsha's research focus is on Natural Product Chemistry, Isolation, Characterization, Leads in Drug Discovery, Pharmaceutical Formulations, Plant Hydrocolloids, Derivatization etc. She has been working with Amity University since October 2005. She has established herself as an early-career leader in the emerging field in a short span of time. She has done significant research work in the field of Applied Carbohydrate and Natural Product chemistry and has published more than 60 research papers in Journals of repute, books and has guided 4 Ph.D. students during this period. She has worked on many projects funded by Government and Industry. In addition to teaching, she has shown an equal flair for Research and Innovation which has helped her in filing of more than 60 patents, some of which have been commercialized while others are in pipeline to be taken up by Industries making research accomplishments reaching from “Lab to Land”.

Dr. Subhash Chander did B. Pharmacy from GJU, Hisar, and M.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from NIPER. He worked as Research Associate in Jubilant Chemsys Noida for one and half years. He joined the research group of Dr. S. Murugesan in 2012 and completed his PhD in the year 2017 from BITS Pilani, Pilani, Campus. Dr Chander and his team published more than 42 research/review papers in SCI/Scopus indexed journals with an average impact factor more than 3.5. He has published four book chapters and filed four patents. He completed two industry sponsored projects and transferred one technology. Make a link for detailed profile
