  Dr. Nirupama Prakash , Director

Description:
    Professor (Dr.) Nirupama Prakash is serving as Director, Amity Institute of Social Sciences, Amity University-Noida. She is a sociologist. Prior to joining Amity University she served as Professor of Sociology, Head, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and Coordinator, Centre for Women Studies at Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh in India. Earlier she served BITS, Pilani as Chief, Women Studies and Societal Development Unit, Head, Department of Humanistic Studies and Coordinator, M.Phil program in Hospital and Health Systems Management. Prof. Prakash has taught at the Department of Sociology and Centre for International Health, George Washington University, Washington D.C., Department of Global Gender Studies, University at Buffalo, and at University of Maryland at College Park, USA. She has undertaken post-doctoral work in medical sociology at Hartshill Medical Institute, Stoke-On-Trent, U.K. She has been invited as a scholar, consultant, guest speaker and visiting faculty at many international forums. She has been teaching in the field of sociology, gender studies, health systems, conflict management and is an active researcher in social science. She is currently working on projects sponsored by national and international agencies. She has many research papers/chapters published in national and international journals/books.

Description:
    Prof. Veenus Jain is a PhD in History with interdisciplinary cross cultural management in International Business orientation. She has done B.Ed, Masters in Ancient Indian History (Gold Medal), Masters in Medieval Indian History, LLB, M.Phil in History (Gold Medal)and doctorate on ?System of Devadasis In India? She joined Amity International Business School as Jr. Vice President and established the department of History in Amity Institute of Social Sciences. She has about 20 years of experience and expertise in interdisciplinary Social Science, Cross Cultural Management, Indian Culture and Heritage.

Dr.Shruti Singh   Dr.Shruti Singh, Associate Professor

Description:
    She has recently completed Post Doctoral research work in Sociology from JNU on Print Media and Development: A Case Study of Prabhat Khabar. She has also completed her PhD in the area of Sociology from JNU. Her area of specialization is Sociology of Development, Media and Communications. She has more than a decade of teaching and research experience.


Mr. PRASHANT RAKESH CHAUHAN   Mr. Prashant Rakesh Chauhan , Assistant Professor (Grade III)

Description:
    He is a Law graduate with Masters Degree in Social Work from CSJM Kanpur University and has over 8 years experience in working with Corporate Sector and National NGOs on issues of Livelihood, Health, Entrepreneurship, Women development, Human Rights, E-Governance etc. He is also active member of International Association Social Workers (IASSW) and National Association of Professional Social Workers in India.


Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Dr. Pushpraj Singh, Assistant Professor (Grade-III)

Description:
    Researcher and Historian specialized in African History and Religion, Indian History and Ancient Indian Religious literature (Doctorate, University of Delhi, India) Dr. Pushpraj Singh is presently working as an Assistant Professor at Amity University. He was earlier associated with GGSIPU Dwarka , University of Delhi & University of Tripura, India as an Assistant Professor of History. He has written extensively on different themes related to Indian Religious Literature, African History, African Religion, Islam and Religion in general.  

Dr. SHALINI SAXENA   Dr. Shalini Saxena , Assistant Professor (Grade III)

Description:
    She has done her PhD from Lucknow University in March 2010 and completed her M.Phil from Centre for International Politics, Organization & Disarmament, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, in International Politics. She has done M.A. (Political Science) from Department of Political Science, Lucknow University. Earlier she was a Lecturer in Guru Gobind Singh College (Punjab University).Chandigarh


Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Dr. Madhumita Saha, Assistant Professor (Grade-III)

Description:
    Dr. Madhumita Saha has a PhD in History from Iowa State University, US. Her areas of specialisation include modern India, agricultural history, environmental history, history of science and technology and gender studies. She has published widely in international peer-reviewed journals. Currently, she is working on her book manuscript on agricultural modernisation in late colonial and post-colonial India. She has received several fellowships including the Fulbright Dissertation Fellowship. 

Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Dr. Rama Srivastava, Assistant Professor (Grade-III)

Description:
    Dr. Rama Srivastava is a PhD in Social Work from University of Delhi and has interdisciplinary orientation in research. She is UGC-NET qualified and has done BSW & MSW from Jamia Millia Islamia and Post Graduate Diploma in IRPM from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan. She has more than 18 years of experience to her credit out of which 6 years was in Corporate. Prior to Amity she has worked with IITM, an Affiliated Institute of (Guru Gobind Singh Indra Prastha University) GGSIPU and taught MBA & BBA program. She has completed one Interdisciplinary Major Research Project funded by ICSSR .titled “Role of IT Enabled Interface in bridging the Skill Gap: A Study of Higher Education Institutions”. She has many research papers / articles / Chapters published in Journals and Books.

Description:
    Dr. Rakesh Rai has done BA (Honours), MA and PhD in Sociology from Banaras Hindu University. Has cleared UGC NET/JRF in 2006 and has teaching experience of 7 years. His area of specialization include Social Movement, Industrial Sociology and Sociology of Law.  

Ms. Bhwana Sharma   Ms. Bhwana Sharma, Assistant Professor (Grade-I)

Description:
    Ms. Bhawna Sharma is pursuing her PhD from JNU, New Delhi and completed her M.Phil from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi in 2011.

    She has Qualified National Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by University Grant Commission in 2007.

    She has done M.A. (Political Science) from Department of Political Science, Meerut University. Earlier she taught in Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and Zakir Hussain College, Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University.


Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Dr. Jyotika Teckchandani, Assistant Professor (Grade-I)

Description:
    Dr. Jyotika Teckchandani holds her Bachelors and Masters in Political Science from Sri Venkateswara College, and Lady Shri Ram College, both affiliated to University of Delhi. She received her M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees on West Asian Studies from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She is the author of books “Islam and Gender Politics in Iran” and "State and Women in Islamic Republic of Iran: Khomeini Era (1979-89).
    She has contributed a number of articles in academic journals of repute and newspapers including Indian Journal of Secularism, Journal of West Asian Studies and Pioneer. Her research interests include gender issues, International Relations, Foreign Policy analysis, Political Theory and Thought, Indian and West Asian Politics. 

Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Dr. Nandini Sahay, Assistant Professor (Grade-I)

Description:
    Dr Nandini Sahay, is an alumni of AISS. She has done B.A (Honours) in Economics, from Patna University, Masters and PhD in Social Work from Amity Institute of Social Sciences, Amity University. Has Qualified NET conducted by UGC. She has experience of teaching and has worked in Voluntary Organisations as well. She has contributed a number of articles in academic journals of repute and newspapers including Yojna, Kurukshetra and Millenium Post and Dainik Jagran.
    Her research interests include different dimension of women empowerment with a special focus on reproductive health 

Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Dr. Kiran Sharma, Assistant Professor (Grade-I)

Description:
    Dr. Kiran Sharma received M.Phil and Ph.D degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and completed her Graduation and Post-Graduation in Sociology from Banaras Hindu University, U.P. She has recently completed Post Doctorate from Aarhus University, Denmark and qualified UGC-NET in 2011.
    Her research interests include poverty, inequality, tribal migration. urbanization and development. She has published a book and written several articles in national and international journals. 

Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Mr. Mayank Tomar,Assistant Professor (Grade-I)

Description:
    Mr Mayank Tomar has submitted his PhD from Dr H.S. Gour Central University Sagar, M.P on Community Health of Baiga Tribe. He has completed his M.Phil from Jiwaji University Gwalior and he has qualified National Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by University Grant Commission. He has also qualified Indian Council of Medical Research Fellowship. He has done M.A. (Sociology) from Hyderabad Central University. His area of specialization is medical sociology, Sociology of Tribal Health, Sociology of Body, and Medicalization of Society etc.  

Ms Zeenat Ahmed   Ms. Diksha Jha, Assistant Professor (Grade-1)

Description:
    Diksha Jha completed her PhD from Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has also done her M.Phil in the area of Diaspora and Citizenship from Centre for Law and Governance, JNU. She did her Masters in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University and Bachelors in Political Science from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University. She was awarded Vimla Sindhi Gold Medal for being the best candidate in B.A. (Hons) Political Science in Delhi University in 2006. Her interest areas include Governance, Citizenship, Public Policy and Indian Politics.

Description:
    She has done M.A. (Education, Sociology) from CCS University, Meerut. She has done work with W.H.O. as an External Monitor and UNICEF as a Community Co-ordinator, in their various programmes


Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Dr. Richa Kapoor Mehra

Description:
    Mphil/ PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. She is a graduate and post- graduate from Miranda House, University of Delhi. Her areas of specialization include philosophy of mind and philosophy of language. She has served Miranda House, University of Delhi, B.M.L Munjal University and The Bhopal School of Social Sciences. She has been awarded Junior Research Fellowship ( JRF) of Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR). She was awarded with Miranda house award for scoring highest marks and Delhi University rankers prize. She has various research papers published in UGC recognized journals as well as in various peer- reviewed journals. She has also presented papers in conferences and seminars. She is a life member of Ludwig Wittgenstein's Philosophical Society (LWPS).

Dr. Veenus Jain,  Professor   Dr. Richa Sukla

Description:
    Dr Richa has an MPhil and a PhD from Centre for Philosophy, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her areas of specialization include Feminist Philosophy, Political Philosophy and Ethics. She has published in International Peer Reviewed Journals. Previously she was employed at Delhi University.
