ABOUT AMITY UNIVERSITY

Amity University was established under the aegis of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, a Non-Profit education trust over 18 years ago. ABOUT AINN

The institute was established in the year 2013. Currently, AINN is the only institute in the country to run a B.Sc. (Honors) program in Neurosciences. It is also running M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. The faculty members of AINN are internationally trained with research expertise in various areas of Neurosciences which includes, Ageing; Behavioural; Cellular; Cognitive; Computational; Developmental; Disease biology; Molecular; Sleep neurobiology

THEME OF THE WORKSHOP

Understanding behaviour regulation by the brain through changes in cell, molecule, neurotransmitter, and so on.

The participants are expected to gain relevant competencies & skills so that they can train their students and write projects to fulfill their research dreams.

INSIGHTS

Hands-on Training and understanding on correlation of molecule to behavioural research as follows:

  • Recording of selected behaviour

    Rodents (mammals); Zebra Fish (vertebrates); and C. elegans (invertebrates)

  • Stereotaxic brain surgery and histology

    To approach specific regions of brain for acute and chronic studies

    Staining and immunohistochemistry

  • Biochemistry, Molecular, & Cellular Biology

    Protein extraction and estimation, Enzyme assay, Electrophoresis, Immunoblotting, PCR, etc.

  • Systems Neurosciences

    Mathematical modelling, and Computational Neurosciences

OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP

  • Participants will develop a scientific community network among themselves as well as with the host Institution to collaborate, and to attract young students to pursue neurosciences.
  • To promote academic work and share knowledge in the multiple facets of the scientific pursuits in the brain-behavior domains.
  • To bring together researchers and academicians to share and learn the recent trends in Behavior neuroscience.
  • To foster skills of rethinking, reasoning, and enquiring about the brain functions and behaviour.
  • To train trainers to develop human resources.
