About Amity University

The Amity University has been established by an act of State Legislature and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) through the Act of State Legislature. It is recognized as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by DST Govt. of India. The University encourages the faculty members to undertake research work for their professional development and enrichment of courses/teaching. The University is also offering M.Phil., Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Research programmes. A number of Institutions/Departments of Amity have undertaken Research projects sponsored by DST, DBT, ICMR, CSIR, DRDO, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Dept. of Atomic Energy, Ministry of Earth Sciences etc. A total of more than 305 Patents applications have been filed by the various faculty members of Amity University Uttar Pradesh with Controller of Patents in the last two years in the areas of Biotechnology, Microbial technology, Nano technology, Information technology, Herbal Medicines & Allied Sciences. The university is NAAC A+ accredited. The NIRF rank of the university for the year 2019 is 58 and 35 in the University and Engineering category respectively.

Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India is a leading premier institute dedicated to nation service. It offers higher education in forensic sciences at three programmes levels: UG-B.Sc. (Hons.) Forensic Science, PG-M.Sc. (Forensic Science) and Doctorate-Ph.D. (Forensic Science) in Full Time and Part Time mode, all the courses aim to instil in student’s professional acumen, skills and capabilities to deal with different areas of life.
The institute is committed to impart education in an extensive Flipped mode encompassing four quadrant approach of Interactive Classroom Teaching. “Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences” an institute of Amity University came into existence by an act under the Amity University (Uttar Pradesh) Act, 2005 and it has also been listed under ‘Educational Institutions’ in the U.P. Govt. website (http://www.upgov.nic.in). Its main aim is to conduct important professional courses that can ensure employment to passing-out students. In addition, several short-term training programmes are being offered by the institute. The institute has organized International and National conferences, workshops, seminars and Quiz competitions.

About FDP

Forensic Science has a cardinal role in criminal justice system. Crime prevention is a global issue and despite prodigious efforts by law enforcement agencies, there is a surge in crime statistics. Forensic experts assist in protecting and handling of the crime scene and in collecting the evidences of prime importance with the help of technology & scientific methods. They also testify as Expert Witness in courtroom proceedings. There is an intense need that new advancements and technologies must be employed as a tool for checking crime in effective way. FDP on “Recent advancement in Forensic Science and Technology” is designed to supplement technical knowledge and real time problems of criminal Investigation amongst faculties, scientists and researchers. FDP will accouter participants with the skillset required education and criminal justice system and would help in nourishing research ideas based on real time problems in faculties, scientists/forensic experts and budding researchers, etc.
