ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Revolutionizing Medical Imaging with Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence highlights the transformative potential of AI and computer vision in the field of medical imaging. Medical imaging, which includes techniques like X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, has been a critical tool in diagnosing and treating diseases. However, the interpretation of medical images has traditionally been a time-consuming and error-prone process, relying on the expertise of human radiologists. Advances in computer vision and AI have enabled the development of sophisticated algorithms that can analyse medical images more accurately and efficiently than humans. These algorithms can detect subtle patterns and anomalies that might be missed by even the most experienced radiologists and can provide clinicians with insights into a patient's condition that would be impossible to obtain otherwise.

The application of computer vision and AI in medical imaging has already yielded impressive results in several areas, including cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring. As these technologies continue to improve, and become more widespread, these have potential to revolutionize the field of medical imaging, enabling earlier and close to accurate diagnoses, more personalized treatment plans, and better outcomes for patients. The objective of this symposium is to understand the basics of AI and machine learning, have familiarity with AI applications in medical imaging, critically evaluate AI tools for medical imaging and have Hands-on experience with AI tools and software for medical imaging.

OBJECTIVES

  • Understanding of the principles and applications of AI and machine learning, including the different types of algorithms and their strengths and limitations.
  • Understanding how AI is being used in medical imaging today, including the benefits and challenges of implementing these technologies.
  • Familiarity with different tools and technologies used in AI for medical imaging, including image processing software, machine learning frameworks, and data analysis tools.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and technologies, applying them to real-world medical imaging data sets. This could include segmentation, classification, and prediction tasks.
  • Understanding the challenges and future directions of AI in medical imaging: Participants should be familiar with the challenges facing the wider adoption of AI in medical imaging, as well as the future directions and potential of these technologies in advancing healthcare.
