Prof. (Dr.) Kumud Bala- Professor (AIB, AUUP)

Prof. (Dr.) Kumud Bala is currently working as Professor at Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh. She attained her Ph.D. degree from Patna University and her area of expertise is Cancer Immunology, Neuroendocrinology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, etc. She has more than 25 years of teaching and research experience. She has published more than 50 Publications including Research Papers, Review Articles, Books & Book Chapters. Currently, she is running more than three Government funded projects and completed 2 projects funded by ICMR & DST. She is guiding more than 5 Ph.D. students presently & 4 have been awarded. Also, more than 100 students have been trained and completed their dissertations & major projects under her supervision. She has filed more than 19 patents, out of which 7 have been granted in the field of Biotechnology & Biosciences. She has given more than 20 invited lectures and is also a member of various eminent societies and a reviewer of various journals. She has been awarded a special state Merit Scholarship, UGC Teachers Fellowship, and Award of excellence from AIIMS, Delhi & PGIMER, Chandigarh for organizing INPALMS at Amity University. She has recently achieved SAS Best Faculty Award 2020 & Best Academician Award 2021.

Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Singh- Professor & Additional Director (AIMT, AUUP)

Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Singh is presently working as Additional Director at Amity Institute of Microbial Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India. She received her B.Sc in Microbiology (1992) from Delhi University, M.Sc. (1995), and Ph.D. (1999) in Microbiology from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Tech, Pantnagar. Her area of expertise is microbial enzymes and presently working on the molecular and functional aspects of enzymes like protease, keratinase, fibrinolytic protease, and lactamase. She is also working in the area of nanobiotechnology and metagenomic studies of microbial systems. She has more than 20 patents in her credit, executed 7 different projects, and authored, co-authored over 80 scientific papers, articles, books, and chapters, and received different grants from Govt. organizations to present a paper on different international platforms. She is a reviewer/editorial member of different reputed international journals.

 

Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Ganjewala – Professor (AIB, AUUP)

Dr. Deepak Ganjewala is a Professor at Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Noida He received his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry jointly from the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) at the University of Lucknow, Lucknow UP, India. His research area is interested in the study of biosynthesis and regulation of essential oils in Cymbpogon species (lemongrass), metabolic engineering of the essential oil biosynthesis pathways, microbial biotransformation of secondary metabolites, and phytochemical profiling and bioactivity assessment. The most productive approach in this area has been a multidisciplinary one that utilizes the best tools from the fields of chemistry, (GLC, HPLC, GC-MS, and NMR), biochemistry (enzyme isolation and purification), molecular biology (isolation and characterization of cDNAs, RAPD and RFLP) and plant physiology (radiotracer techniques). The model plant used in his lab is lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus). He has published 79 research articles including research papers, book chapters, abstracts, and a book. He has also conducted research projects sponsored by DST and CSIR. Dr. Ganjewala has delivered invited lectures at national and international conferences. He is the recipient of the Summer Research Fellowship of the Indian Academy of Sciences, India, the Israel Government Scholarship, DST Young Scientist Award. He is a life member of the Society of Biological Chemists and a Fellow of the Society for Applied Biotechnology, India.

Dr. Nidhi Srivastava - Associate Professor, AIB, AUUP.

Dr. Nidhi Srivastava is currently working as Associate Professor at Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Noida (U.P.). She has 16 years of Teaching Experience. Her previous research experience was from the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, and the National Institute of Immunology, Delhi for which she has received scholarships & fellowships. Her area of expertise includes Immunology, Molecular Diagnostics, and Biochemistry. She has more than 16 Publications including Research articles, Review articles, Books & Book Chapters. She has filed 3 patents that have been granted and has run one DST-SERB-funded project. She has supervised 5 Ph.D. students and many Dissertations of master’s students.  She is a member of the Science Congress and the Indian Immunological Society.

Dr. Abha Kumar, Associate Professor, AIB, AUUP.

Dr. Abha Kumari is working as an Associate Professor at the Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S in Biochemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. She holds a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from CSIR’s National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, and another Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Lakehead University, Canada. She was also a Visiting Researcher at the Tohoku Institute of Technology, Sendai. She has received numerous grants as project funding for various projects from CSIR and the DBT government of India.  She has published several papers in reputed international journals. Her area of specialization is Biofuel: Biogas and Biodiesel, Microbial Fermentation, Flower waste, Municipal solid waste management, Development of Biological process for production value-added product, Bioremediation of industrial affluent, Development of the model of biochemical network for microorganism.
