About Faculty Development Program (FDP):

A Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is a training initiative designed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and abilities of educators, particularly within higher education institutions. It aims to improve teaching effectiveness, keep faculty updated on current trends, industry requirements and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. It also focuses on the implication of AI in sciences.

Objectives of a Faculty Development Program

The participants would be able –

  • Enhance teaching and pedagogical skills using innovative teaching-learning methods
  • Train faculty in research methodologies.
  • Update faculty on the latest technological tools and platforms.
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and curriculum development.
  • Bridge the gap between industry and academia focussing in the field of chemical sciences.

Learning Outcomes:

After successful completion of the Faculty Development Program, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate enhanced pedagogical skills
  2. Apply research methodology in academic and applied research
  3. Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation keeping the industry requirement in perspective.
  4. Enhance soft skills along with the latest developments in AI related to Chemical sciences
  5. Bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge in curriculum and the practical application in industry.
  6. Focus on industry problems, working towards developing courses based on them.

Amity University Uttar Pradesh was established by an Act of the State Legislature of Uttar Pradesh in 2005. The university is recognized by UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act and accredited by the NAAC with grade 'A+'. Amity University offers programs on campus and through distance mode, in several fields of study at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. It has campuses in India and overseas. Amity is focused on pursuing and strengthening its relationship with the industry. Amity Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS), Noida, Uttar Pradesh, was established under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh with a vision to be a center of excellence for physical and chemical sciences. The Institute offers B.Sc. (Honours), B.Sc. (Honours) + Research programs in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics at undergraduate level and M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. It has faculty with expertise in various science disciplines which helps in promoting interdisciplinary applied research as it has the benefit of different science, technology and innovation disciplines working together.
