Program Title: Five Days’ Online Workshop on Quantitative and Qualitative Methods

Overview

The programme, designed for doctoral students, will address issues in quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analytics like selection of appropriate analytical tools, right software, interpretation of outputs and effective report writing. The objective of this programme is to emphasize on broad range of techniques and software available in research methods and data analytics for doctoral students from interdisciplinary domains.

Programme Objectives

  1. The purpose of this intensive course is to train the doctoral students in using advanced quantitative and qualitative methods for research.
  2. To acquaint the doctoral students with bibliometric methods (e.g., co-citation analysis, bibliographic coupling) and topic modelling. 
  3. To provide a hands-on experience using NVivo for qualitative data analysis.
  4. To provide hands-on experience in analysing and interpreting data using SPSS and Smart -PLS.

Pedagogy

The Workshop will be highly experimental and interactive with lectures, discussions, presentations, and hands-on session on SPSS, Smart PLS and NVivo. Participants will be provided with the relevant industry example data sets for the purpose of analysis to facilitate the experiential learning which they can further use for data analysis and paper publication.

  4. Synthesize the research articles, thesis and dissertation and deveop an aptitude for research work improvement.
Assessment:
  1. Quiz at the end of each session.
  2. Hands-on practice questions after every software based session.
  3. Comprehensive quiz at the end of 5 days to test overall learning.

SPEAKER’S PROFILE

Dr. Ivan Zupic

Dr. Ivan Zupic is a Faculty in Entrepreneurship at the institute of Management Studies, Goldsmiths, University of London. He completed his Ph.D in Management and Organisation at Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. His research interests include digital strategy & innovation, technology Entrepreneurship, high-growth firms, entrepreneurial ecosystems and research methods. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Organizational Research Methods, European Managment Journal and Management Decision. Before entering academia he worked as a consultant in the IT industry and as a journalist/photographer in the media


Dr. James Gaskin

Dr. James Gaskin is an associate professor of information systems at Brigham Young University, Utah. He has published 160+ scientific articles in prestigious journals and conferences. His research focuses on augmented reality, human-computer interaction, and human cognition. Dr. Gaskin is best known for his efforts to make advanced statistical methods, like structural equation modeling, accessible to the world. His statistics YouTube channel and accompanying "StatWiki" are viewed thousands of times each day with nearly 20 million views to date. Dr. Gaskin is also a serial entrepreneur, having helped start eight companies in the last eight years. 


Dr. Ajay Kumar Chauhan

Dr. Ajay Kumar Chauhan is working as independent consultant of quantitative methods. He is a visiting faculty with MDI, IMT, NMIMS, IIFT, NIT etc. Earlier he was associated with IMT- Ghaziabad as a full-time faculty for eight years. He is M.Sc. Mathematics, MBA Finance, UGC NET and has also done a PhD in Finance. He has published 25 international research papers (including ABDC A category and B category) and three books. He is a well-known trainer of data science and analysis and has conducted more than 1000 national and international training workshops on topics such as ‘Financial Econometrics’, ‘Time series analysis’, “Machine Learning using R and Orange”, ‘Structural Equation Modelling (SEM),’ ‘Panel Data Analysis,’ and ‘Business Research Methods,’ in reputed institutions of India such as NHPC, Coca Cola, IMT Ghaziabad, UGC-Academic Staff Colleges, IIIFT, Delhi University, NHPC, National Institute of Technology (NIT), IIIT, Ministry of Communications and many more. He also taught in Bulgaria and done an advance course in econometrics from Switzerland.


Dr. Bhawna Agarwal

Dr. Bhawna Agarwal is Professor at Amity College of Commerce and Finance, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida. She is PhD in Statistics from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. She has published number of research papers in International and National reputed indexed journals like Scopus, WoS, ABDC etc. and chapters in a book. She has presented and contributed papers at conferences like Harvard University, Suffolk University, IIMs etc. She is reviewer of many journals and book publishing by Emerald Group, IGI-Global, AMDISA etc. She is guiding seven PhD scholars and one has been awarded. She is Full Professional Member of International Association of Educators and Researchers. She is trained in various statistical softwares such as SPSS, Smart PLS, AMOS, Data Analysis VBA etc.


Dr. Anindita Bhattacharjee

Dr. Anindita Bhattacharjee is a Ph. D. from Jadavpur University. She did her Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience, modelling and simulation of neuronal models. She also finds interests in Mathematical modelling of Finance and statistical behaviour of market data and predictive analysis. She has 15 publications in reputed journals. She had attended a number of conferences and presented research papers in many conferences held in prestigious institutes like Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad; IIT Madras, Calcutta Mathematical Society etc. She is a life time member of professional bodies like IAENG (International Association of Engineers) and Forum of Global Knowledge Sharing, a platform of researchers and academicians of Finance and Economics across the country and also the editorial board member of “Frontiers in Science Technology and Application”, a multi disciplinary journal by an international team of renowned scientists, under the aegis of Science for Inclusive and Integrated Development Trust (SIID)
