Amity University inks MoU with Queen Mary University of London, UK & University of Valladolid, Spain, to foster Academic Collaboration

Delegations from Queen Mary University of London, UK and University of Valladoid, Spain, visited Amity University Noida campus, with an aim to sign MoU with Amity University to foster academic partnerships and to explore opportunities for Dual Degrees, Student and Faculty Exchange Programs, Joint Research Initiatives, co-hosting academic conferences, seminars and lectures. The delegation from Queen Mary University of London, UK, comprised of Prof. Colin Bailey, President and Principal, Mr. Lee Wildman, Director of Global Engagement, Ms. Clare Burke, Head of International Partnerships and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, Principal Advisor (South Asia), Global Engagement Office. The Delegation from University of Valladolid Spain, comprised of Prof.  Antonio Largo, Vice-chancellor, Dr. Paloma Castro, Pro-Vice-chancellor for Internationalization, Prof. Carmen Barrientos, Full Professor, Faculty of Science, Dr. Guillermo Rodríguez Martín, Director, Casa de la India, Valladolid, Mr Guillermo Martín Senderos, Secretary, Embassy of Spain.The Opening of Spanish Centre by University of Valladolid, at Amity University, was also announced on this occasion.

 

Expressing his pleasure on signing the MoU, Prof. Colin Bailey, President and Principal, QMUL, UK, averred, “We are extremely delighted to visit Amity University today and embark on a journey of a mutually beneficial collaboration between us. We are passionate about social mobility of our students and our aim is to find talent across the globe. Research in Healthcare, AI, Big Data, Energy and Sustainability are some of our key focus areas and we work with industry partners to foster research in these areas. We must provide the students not only good education but also prepare them for adaptability in an ever-changing environment, so that they can adapt themselves in various challenging situations and environments. We would like to open the doors for opportunities for research and innovation, address the inequalities and make new discoveries through meaningful partnerships across the globe.”

 

Dr.  Antonio Largo, Vice Chancellor, University of Valladolid, Spain, stated, “We are glad to partner with Amity University, and our main focus is our students. We must provide them with all kinds of opportunities which will help them to grow not only as professionals but also as individuals who can contribute to making the world a better place to live. Our University is committed to transfer and exchange of knowledge through outcome-based collaboration with renowned institutions like Amity.”

 

Mr. Amol Chauhan, Executive Director-Strategic Operations, FPO, said, “We welcome representatives of both the Universities and the collaboration with them is just the beginning of what we can achieve in the next few years. The importance of cross-cultural knowledge comes from experience, and we understand the value of global exposure since it has a very deep significant impact on the career trajectory of the students. Our visions are aligned, and we look forward to working closely with both Universities, in different areas.”

 

Presenting a brief overview of the Amity Education Group, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, stated, “Today is a historic day when Amity University has signed MoUs with two prestigious institutions of the world, Queen Mary University of London UK & University of Valladolid, Spain. The MoUs will further strengthen our partnership, by working together in various areas such as Student Mobility Programs, Internship Programs, Student and Faculty Exchange Programs, amongst other areas.”

 

Dr. W Selvamurthy, President ASTIF presented the Research initiatives of Amity. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh and the Heads of Amity Institutions.
