About The Programme

The Digital India Campaign is helping to transform the entire nation into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. While education will play a critical role in this transformation, technology will play an essential role in improving educational processes and outcomes; thus, the relationship between technology and education is bi-directional. Technology is all about engagement. Watching the intense looks on youngster's faces as they play video games, text all day long, Skype, Facebook, watch YouTube videos, and juggle a dozen websites at a time, we can see that they are engaged. The i-Generation is immersed in technology. The youngsters in this new generation are defined by their technology and media use, their love of electronic communication, their need to multitask, and the so-called i-generation. Their technology world is open 24/7. Teachers need to take advantage of their love of technology to refocus education. In doing so, teachers get students more involved in learning and free up classroom time to help them make meaning of the wealth of information surrounding them.

Further, e-Assessments play a vital role in providing educators with new and informed knowledge on how this alternative technology-based assessment can be effectively used for learning. It is important to understand that educators should not "teach with technology" but integrate technology into their pedagogy to attain more powerful and efficient learning outcomes.
