An insightful session into the basic working mechanism of a manual camera. Functions of the different parts and their use.

“THE PHOTOGRAPHY ROUND TABLE” 
Analysis and discussion on home assignment.  What did the students discover while observing visual? Difference between still and video.

 “ DEPTH OF FIELD AND ITS IMPLICATIONS”
An educative discourse on the importance and perceptions to depth of field in photography. Show case of examples where depth is elementary and others where it has been creatively altered.

“ COMPOSING THE FRAME “
Role of aesthetics every time we click a picture. Standard rules which differentiate a good and a bad photograph.

Click pictures of a single theme with varying depths. .

Analysis and discussion on home assignment.

“ THE RAY OF HOPE - LIGHTING IN PHOTOGRAPHY”
 Information on sources of light, direction and angle of light, role of contrast and its control.

Shoot on campus with manual cameras
Focus on natural lighting and composition

 Exposure to the dark room. Role of chemicals and dark room etiquette. Developing a photogram.

The concept of film speed. Its usage and experimentation with the medium.

“INTRODUCTION TO SPECIALIZED PHOTOGRAPHY ”
A session exploring the various popular specializations. The identification of specialized equipment for each specialized area.

 “ NATURE AND TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY”
Personal accounts of professional specializing in the given area. The emphasis on visual communication and intricacies of the subject.

“THE ART OF CAPTURING EMOTIONS AND MEMORIES”.
An insight into the nuances of portraiture in photography. Also aspects of product shoots will be discussed along with practical inputs.

DAY SIX

“CAREERS IN PHOTOGRAPHY AND WORK OF FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPHERS” 

An insightful session on how the training will be useful. The career choices that can be made. Photo journalism and citizen journalism will be  dealt with in greater  detail.

“THE DIGITAL DIMENSION”
Identify the differences between Manual and digital. The attributes of each medium and preferences of famous photographers of their individual mediums.

Surf the net and identify one famous photographer whose work you like.

DAY SEVEN 

 

10 AM TO 2 P.M 

“ PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF LEARNING”

Day trip/ tour to a famous location in Delhi. Students need to identify their theme and expand their kitty/ ensemble of photographs for the 30 photo AV.

* Transport will be a crucial requirement for day seven.

 

DAY EIGHT

 

10 AM TO 2 PM

 

“ THE SHOWCASE “
Organizing 30 Pictures on a theme along with underlay of music.
Preparation of a write up which

  • Introduces the theme
  • Identifies a treatment given to the AV

Final touches to the AV and presentation

 

DAY NINE 

 

10 AM TO 12PM

“THE FINAL SHOWCASE  ”
Presentations of final 30 Pic , theme based AV with underlay of music. Each individual/ student will present it.
