Fine Arts

Amity School of Fine Arts will hold summer classes for the Field of Painting where students will get a brief overview of the different nuances of drawing, Painting and Creative Composition.

Day 1 – Brief overview of the Fundamentals of Art i.e- The use of Colour, Perspective, Forms, Textures, Rhythm and Composition. This will be furthered with a class on basic knowledge and techniques of using different media in painting i.e – Watercolour, Poster Colour, Acrylic Colour and Oil Colour.

Day 2- Day 3 – Practical work in drawing studying from Nature e.g – Flowers, Fruits, Vegetables. They will further move on to doing Life study of models. Students will be taught to use textures while working with collages, and will be introduced to monoprinting.  
 
Day 4 – Day 5 – working with details – Proportion, tonal variation, chiaro scuro and texture. Students will then be taken a step further and introduced to color and rendering using water and Poster Color.

Day 6 – Brief discussion after the 1st week seeing the progress and the interest which students have been taking in the different media.

Students will finish off the week by making detailed layouts by composing various elements which they have studied. They will also at this point be introduced to collage work in colour.  

Day 7 – Introduction to using Acrylic and oil Paints and the different possibilities these media provide. They will also start working out their composition in this media.

Day 8 – Furthing work on compositions whilst being shown various works through the ages of masters – Eastern/Western. Students get an insight into the various ways in which the language of Art evolves in terms of structure, Composition and ways of using media.

Day 9 –Finish compositions and start discussing, thinking about the work that’s been produced over the two weeks and the space in which it will be displayed.

Discuss/ brainstorm ways of displaying, look at what makes a “gallery space” and learn the different nuances of displaying art work.

Day 10 – Putting up of display on the last day which will be open to all. Students will discuss with a presentation, and get responses to the work done over the two weeks.
