Born in1952, possesses, an M. Phil degree in Political Science from Delhi University with a Masters in History from the University of Poona. Has widely traveled worldwide especially in the Arab world where she spent eleven years in Kuwait, Iraq, the Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
She is currently working with the United Nations Industrial Development Programme, UNIDO as a Gender Coordinator for UNIDO's cluster development programme. This involves working with both established and newly created NGOs.
She is trained in Indian classical dance and very much interested in serious Asian cinema. She has been a volunteer teacher to underprivileged children for the last four years.
