Two day Telecom Seminar “ TeleFocus’08 organised by Amity Institute of Telecom Technology and Management

India is witnessing a telecom revolution which has resulted in impressive growth of landline and wireless connections. To discuss the future of this revolution, Amity Institute of Telecom Technology and Management organised a two day Seminar “TeleFocus- 2008” on the theme “Future of Indian Telecom Revolution” which concluded with seminal suggestions and discussions by the bigwigs of Telecom Industry
During the valediction, Mr. R. Sivakumar- MD (Marketing and Sales), Intel and Mr. Ajay Bhattacharya- (IAS) Administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) shared their expertise and knowledge with the budding engineers.
Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Universe thanked the industry doyens who shared contemporary know how of telecom sector with the greenhorns thereby making the seminar a success.

During the occasion, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. was conferred the Award for the “Most Admired Multi- National Company” in India and BSNL for the “Most Admired Indian Telecom Company”. Amity Institute of Information Technology organises IT Festival CYBUS

Two day workshop on “ Building skills capacity with CISCO Curricula, CYBUS was organised by Amity Institute of Information Technology. The workshop intended to bridge the gap between industry and IT professionals and enhance the level of employability in the industry. Mr. Pradeep Gupta- MD, M/s Cyber Media India (Pvt.) Ltd., Mr. Asoke K Laha- President and MD, M/s Interra IT India (Pvt.) Ltd, Mr. Satish K Khosla- Regional Vice President, Central Asia & EMEA, M/s ACS Emerging Markets, Mr. Lokesh Mehra- Regional Manager (South Asia), M/s CISCO System India Pvt. Ltd. presented their views on the occasion.
Two day workshop had deliberations on the several areas of IT and Networking and its effective usage by eminent speakers including Mr. Yugal Sharma- Regional Manager (India and SAARC), POLYCOM (uk) India Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Lovekesh Chanana- Network Consulting Engineering, CISCO Systems India Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. R. S Mani- Sr. Director(Technical ), NIC, Delhi; Mr. Rajeev Puri- Associate VP, Houston Technologies and Mr. R Dutta- CISCO Systems India Pvt. Ltd.
A plethora of fun- filled and mind boggling activities such as quiz, web designing, sudoko, stage play, rock show, dance competition, fun zone, tug of war and talent show took place during “ Cybus 2008”.


National Psychology Fest organised by Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences

3rd annual National Psychology Festival “Abhivyakti ‘08” was inaugurated by Hon’ble Sachin Pilot- MP, Lok Sabha; His Excellency, Mookhesswur Choonee- High Commissioner of Mauritius; Yogi Ashwiniji- Dhyan Foundation and Mr. Aseem Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University, Rajasthan.
Hon’ble Sachin Pilot- MP, Lok Sabha congratulated Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences for organizing a fest on a very relevant theme. Citing the fact that today’s India is a young India because 56% population of India is under the age of 25, he remarked that it’s a matter of great concern that the mental health and well being of the youth is challenged by mounting pressures on them.
His Excellency, Mookhesswur Choonee- High Commissioner of Mauritius expressed his concern over the dilution of Indian culture and values because of too much information bombarded on youth from different channels like internet.
The inauguration was followed by a seminar “Great Indian Minds”.The second day of the National Fest had a plethora of mind boggling and entertaining activities including dream analysis, nukkad natak, poetry competition, music competition, choreography competition.


Amity School of Business in association with Rotary Blood Bank organises two-day Blood Donation Camp

Life is precious and what makes it sustainable is the blood, which has no substitute. It is required regularly round the clock to save human life as there are more blood seekers than donors. Annual requirement of blood in Delhi is approximately 350,000 units.
To motivate and familiarize students with the importance of voluntary blood donation, Amity School of Business and Rotary Blood Bank jointly organized a two day Blood Donation Camp at Amity Campus, Sector- 44 Noida on April 09-10, 2008.
Dr. Alka Munjal, Director, Amity School of Business said that nothing is more ennobling and satisfying than to donate blood to save someone else’s life. But there are very less people who understand this and come forward to contribute their might in this life saving effort.
On day 1 Approximately 150 student volunteers, senior officials and faculty members thronged to donate blood. 150 units of blood were collected on day 1 of the camp.


Amity Institute of Biotechnology organises three day biotech festival Urooj

Three day annual National Techno-Literary and Cultural Festival - UROOJ `08 organised by Amity Institute of Biotechnology was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Raj Singh- Pro- VC, Amity University, Dr. Sunil Saran- Vice Chairman- Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), Dr. A.K Srivastava- Director, Amity Institute of Biotechnology and Dr. Ajit Varma- Director, Amity Institute of Microbial Sciences.
Eminent speakers including Ms. Pamela Philipose- Director, Women’s Feature Service; Ms. Aditi Sharma- Research Officer, NHRC; Ms. Poonam Sharma- Editor-in- Chief, Centre for Social Welfare Board; Ms. Sridevi- Resource Person, Centre for Social Welfare Board ; Ms. Meera Basu- Coordinator, Ekatra and Ms. Ghazala Khan- Coordinator, Ekatra (NGO) and Ms. Bonani Dhar- Resource Person and Coordinator, UNICEF presented their valuable views.
The Techno-Literary and Cultural Festival Fest spread over three days cover a wide array of exciting and mind boggling events like treasure hunt, photography contest, technical paper presentation, working model presentation, stage play, street play, singing competition, dance competition, fashion show, debate, elocution competition and debate competition in which over 15 colleges across India participated.


Three day art and fashion exhibition “Srijan” organized at Amity

Amity School of Fine Arts & Amity School of Fashion Technology organized their Fourth Annual three day Art Exhibition “Srijan” at Amity University. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Lokesh Chandra- Director, International Academy of Indian Culture; Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Universe, Ms. Divya Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity School of Fine Arts, Amity School of Fine Arts with the traditional lighting of the Lamp.
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Universe said that “Srijan” is an amalgamation of all creative works- covering different aspects of creative world- like paintings, sculptures, garments, textiles and accessories. It provides a platform for students to showcase their creative achievements thereby paving way ahead for professional exposure.
Ms. Divya Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity School of Fine Arts & Amity School of Fine Arts remarked “Srijan means rebirth of creativity. It’s a combined effort put together of the creative works done over the year by the students of BFA -Applied Art, BFA-Painting, BFA- Animation, MFA and BFT.
The stupefying exhibits, displaying the innate talent and creativity of the students, left the beholders spell bound. Eminent artists and crème de la crème of the city visited the exhibition during the two days.

Amity School of Insurance & Actuarial Sciences inaugurated two day seminar on Application of IT in Insurance Sector. The Seminar was inaugurated by Mr. M.
