Marble and Granite industry has groen significantly in the last decades with the privatization trend in early 1990's, and the flourishing construction industry too. Accordingly, the amount of mining and processing waste has increased.

The students of Amity School of Engineering &  Technology got an oppurtinity to interact with Mr. Anuj Maheshwari who guided the students on how stone waste is genrally a highly polluting waste due to both its highly alkaline nature & its manufacturing & processing techniques, which impose a health threat to the surroundings.

Mr. Anuj further gave inputs on utilizing marble and granite waste of different sizes in the manufacturing of concrete bricks with full replacement of conventional coarse and fine aggregates with marble waste scrapes and slurry powder.
