The profession of pharmacy is an integral part of the healthcare system worldwide ensuring quality health care for the patients. Pharmacists are amongst third largest healthcare professionals in the world and pharmacy profession has been evolving steadily over the last decade in India due to tremendous changes in its practice and professional approach with advancement in science and technology, industrialization and increase in patient needs, leading to an increase in the demand of pharmacists. Today, pharmacists have expanded their role from dispensing to pharmaceutical care by maximizing the benefits of medications and their safety.
Realizing the importance of the pharmacy profession and increasing demand of pharmacists, the “Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP), Lucknow Campus was established in 2007 offering B. Pharm. M.Pharm.in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Drug Regulatory Affairs and Ph.D. programs with major focus on producing well qualified workforce for drug and pharmaceutical industries, R&D, academics and health care system keeping in view the ever changing global scenario. AIP is approved by Pharmacy Council of India and is a constituent unit of NAAC accredited (A grade) Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. It’s an ISO- 9001 certified institute.
Amity Institute of Pharmacy is a Centre of Excellence in pharmacy education and research. We educate future pharmacists and scientists and provide professional development opportunities to practicing pharmacists. At AIP, we provide a contucive atmosphere to the students for education and research. The Institute is well-equipped with excellent futuristic infrastructure and library, amphitheater –like classrooms with integrated audio-visual teaching aids, state of art laboratories, sophisticated instruments/equipments and experienced faculty. The facilities are centrally air-conditioned. Curriculum for B. Pharm. and M. Pharm. programs is designed in collaboration with top pharmaceutical companies and research organizations. AIP’s career programs are integrated with one another to train the next generation of leaders in the health industry. Students follow a multi-disciplinary curriculum where they are exposed to biomedical subjects like Physiology, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology along with core subjects of pharmacy and specialized subjects like foreign language (French/German) and communication skills. The students are trained in clinical, hospital and industrial pharmacy. We aim at generating competent, committed and disciplined pharmacists who act as integral part of the health care team along with doctors and nurses, with high ethical values to meet the global challenges in all the diversified fields of Pharmaceutical Industry and Health care.
AIP has established strong linkages with national laboratories and industries through industry-academia initiatives and collaborative research. AIP students have a record of 100% placement. Our students and faculty are regularly exposed to the recent trends and advancement in the field through interaction with eminent personalities from corporate world, CSIR Laboratories, Scientific Organizations and Academics by invited guest lectures, industrial visits, workshops, seminars and conferences. All round development of students is ensured through their involvement in various cultural, sports and co-curricular activities. A 7-day compulsory Military Training Camp is an integral part of Personality Enhancement Module at Amity. Indoor and outdoor sport facilities of international standards, separate hostels for girls and boys, Gymnasium and Yoga Centre, 24x7 WiFi connectivity, ATM of Oriental Bank, Cafe’ Coffee Day, Stationary and Departmental Store, Laundry, Excellent Security System, Auditoriums, Private buses are some of the added features that make “AMITY” a place to reckon with.
