“Drug Safety Reporting, Pharmacovigilance & New Perspectives of Clinical Data Management”

A two day workshop on “Drug Safety Reporting, Pharmacovigilance & New Perspectives of Clinical Data Management” was organized by Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus. Experts from Syncorp Clincare Technologies (P) Ltd, Bangluru; a leading institute in clinical research conducted this workshop.

The workshop was inaugurated by lighting of lamp by dignitaries followed by a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Suneela Dhaneshwar, Director Amity Institute of Pharmacy and Deputy Dean of Research .She laid emphasis on the need of pharmacovigilence and clinical research in current scenario of health care.

Dr. Qamar Rehman, Dean Research (S & T) AUUP Lucknow Campus expressed her views on pharmacovigilance and proposed the amalgamation of nanoscience, bioinformatics and toxicology with the clinical research for benefit of human race.

The inaugural address by ProVC Maj. Gen. K. K. Ohri AVSM (Retd.) boosted the spirit and aura of the congregation.

Dr. Umamaheshwara Rao, Sr. Medical Writer & Reviewer, Mr. Shubham Dutt, Director Syncorp and Ms. Poornima Naik, Clinical Data Manager were the experts who deliberated on basics of pharmacovigilance, clinical research, clinical data management and medical writing followed by hands on training on report writing, clinical data management software and development of case report form. The practical implication of the imparted knowledge was demystified through discussion of case studies.

The workshop received on overwhelming response from more than sixty participants in and around Lucknow. It achieved its objective in apprising the contemporary and recent avenues in field of clinical research and career opportunities for the students. The workshop concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Sajal Srivastava Dy. Director Amity Institute of Pharmcy. The two day workshop was successfully coordinated by Dr. Neha Mathur and a team of faculty and students of Amity Institute of Pharmacy.
