Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrated 67th Republic Day

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd) saluting the tricolor on the occasion of 67th Republic Day.

Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior celebrated the 67th Republic Day of the country with great gaiety and fervor on 26 January 2016.

The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd) to the tune of the National Anthem.

Speaking on the occasion, Gen Sharma expressed his concern over the growing intolerance and violence in the country. He said that it was indeed sad that on the occasion of Republic Day the Red Fort of Delhi has to be made into fortress for security reasons. He reiterated that all religions teach peace & nonviolence and we as Indians should strive to live in peace, harmony and mutual respect.

The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor’s address was followed by rendition of patriotic poems by students which aroused patriotic fervor amongst the students, staff, members of faculty, Heads of Schools and Departments present on the occasion. The students of ASCO presented a skit “Prajatantra Ka Majatantra” which is a reflection of the mockery that the Indian Judiciary has become today.

The programme culminated with the distribution of sweets to all present.
