Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrates 69th Independence Day

National flag being unfurled on the 69th Independence Day

The 69th Independence Day of the Country was celebrated with gaiety & fervour by Amity University Madhya Pradesh at its campus in Maharajapur. The programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd). This was followed by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor’s address to the large gathering of Amitians who had assembled as a mark of patriotism. In his address the Hon’ble V.C. spoke of the citizen’s duties to the country. ‘Ask not what the country does for you. Ask what you can do for the country’ - Gen Sharma told the gathering. He also spoke of dignity of labour and said how, if every individual does his best,  it will greatly contribute to Nation Building.

The Hon’ble VC’s address was followed by recital of two patriotic poems by students.

An N.G.O., Bliss, performed a streetplay, to send the message of patriotism and to awaken the conscience of Amitians.

The  event concluded with the distribution of sweets.
