 Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Gurgaon celebrated Fascination of Plant Days celebration on line of European Plant Science Organization (EPSO) on 22 May 2017 by planting sapling of Peepal tree followed by interactive lecture by renowned plant science expert of the country Padamshree Dr. Brahm Singh. He shares the unique characteristics of plant life that in turn play a significant role in nurturing our civilization. He further emphasized the need of extensive native and target oriented plantation that suits the local climate and necessity. He also cited the transformation of a just shrub of Sea Bukhthorn into extensive commercial production in Leh region by innovative utilizations of resources. It is also called Leh Berry and named Brahmfal after his name. The lecture was followed by interaction with audience where he shares his experience as Chief Gardner of Rashtrpati Bhawan during President Kalam tenure.

Vice Chancellor, Amity University Gurgaon Prof. PB Sharma emphasized the usefulness and application of plants and linked it with tradition of plant worship in India.

The event was organized by Prof. S M Paul Khurana and Dr. Kushagra and attended by faculty and research scholars from different institutions including Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences.

Event was followed by Peepal sapling plantation carried out by Dr. Brahm Singh and academic leaders of Amity University Gurgaon including Prof. P B Sharma (Vice-Chancellor Amity University Gurgaon), Prof. Padmakali Banarjee (Pro Vice-Chancellor Amity University Gurgaon) , Prof. Rajendra Prasad (Director Amity Institute of Biotechnology), Prof. S M Paul Khurana, Prof. Manju Anand and many more.
