Info-Session On Opportunities And Scholarships In Germany

Department of German, Amity School of Languages of Amity University Mumbai had in collaboration with DAAD, Mumbai organized an Info-Session on Opportunities and Scholarships in Germany on 21st Sept. 2016 between 14.00 to 16.00 hrs.

130 students from various schools have participated with interest and enthusiasm. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the largest funding organization in the world supporting the international exchange of students and scholars.

The objectives of the Info-Session were:

1. To spread the information about ample job opportunities and new career prospects in Germany.

2. To make them aware, that in Germany not only the fields related to Engineering and Technology are blooming but other disciplines like Humanities and Social Sciences Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Economics and Law, Language and Culture Studies, Medicine and Health Sciences are also developing faster.

3. To inform the students how to apply for different courses in Germany, how to get scholarships, what are the prerequisites and eligibility criteria.

Focus of the Info-Session was on:

1. Inventions in Germany

2. Master Studies and PhD in Germany

3. Scholarships and Funding

Positive feedback was received from the students. They mentioned, the excellent teaching techniques and different career options, highly respected university education are encouraging them to learn German as a foreign language. The priceless information given by Ms. Shubhada Chaudhari about the use of German language and Germany has opened the doors of plenty of job opportunities. The students also got to know much more about inventions done in Germany right from tooth paste to MP3.

Ultimately one could say that the welcoming approach of the German Government and the German Universities, low tuition fees, affordable living expenses, and safety have inspired students to learn German and made Germany their preferred destination for higher studies.
