AIS, Gurgaon Celebrates the First Junior Sports Meet

Enthusiasm, zeal, encouragement and appreciation marked the first junior sports meet at Amity International School, Sector-43, Gurgaon. Spread over two days, the little ones at the junior and sub-junior level won the hearts of one and all by striving for positions in different races, namely, tunnel race, noddy race, toffee race and many more.

The event began with the lighting of the flame by the Chief Guest, Major General (Retd.) S.P. Jain, AVSM. On this occasion he said that he is delighted to see the tiny tots gathered here to present some sporting skills. It is important for every person to be actively engage in some kind of sports, echoed Major Gen. S.P. Jain.

The meet was marked by march-past, colourful fusion dance, lazium, aerobics, taekwondo, ring drill and acrobatics. Tiny-tots marching in a rhythm were displaying a different aura among the dignitaries.

On the second day, the function was presided over by Mr. P.C. Gupta, District Sports & Youth Welfare Officer, Gurgaon. Mr. Gupta appreciated the students for performing different sports activities. He said that he is pleased to see the enthusiasm among the young ones in participating in the sports day.

The meet offered exciting opportunities to the parents as well, where mothers and fathers ran in races meant for them. The chief guest applauded the efforts of the tiny tots while giving away the prizes. The highlight of the event was the finale presented by the students of classes II, III and IV. The logo of the school, hand-in-hand with a message highlighting the vision of the Founder President, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, came to the force in the end.

Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools , while giving the ‘Vote of thanks’, appreciated the co-operation of the parents, the efforts of the teachers and the enthusiasm of the students. Amity nurture talents and it starts right from such a young age. We may be fortunate to see next P.T. Usha or Milkha Singh being developed here. The function concluded with the school song followed by the national anthem.
