AMI-CULT Club Organised Traditional Day

The cultural club of Amity University, Mumbai organized the Traditional Day event to celebrate the festive season of Navratri and Dussehra on 16th October’18 under the guidance of the club’s respected faculty coordinator- Dr. Shalini Singh. Various teachers and enthusiastic students from several departments of the University joined for the celebration. The event was opened by the Female President of Ami-Cult, Surabhi Singh. The event was hosted by Pathik Gheewala and Dhwani Desai.

A traditional fashion show competition was held as a part of the event with 18 contestants representing the diverse culture of India. The fashion show was judged by the respected teachers : Dr. Renitta Jobby(Amity Institute Of Biotechnology), Dr. Kamatchi Iyer(Amity School Of Engineering & Technology) and Dr. Tareeka Sonawane(Amity Institute Of Biotechnology). In the first round, the contestants had to introduce themselves in an innovative and traditional way depicting their culture and outfit and had to do walk the ramp followed by the final round in which the judges asked the contestants questions regarding their culture and the attire.

The fashion show was followed by an energetic garba dance performance by a group of 12 students. The performance was followed by the declaration of results which was done by our esteemed judges for the event. Three girls named Ksenia, Rutuja Phate and Yukta Kapadia and three boys named Girish Ambapkar, Sudarshan Naidu, Taksh Patel secured the first, second and the third positions, respectively. The certificates were presented by the Honorable Registrar of Amity University, Mumbai- Dr. Ravi Manuja. The distribution of certificates was followed by a photo session with the participants and the event organizers and the volunteers.

Finally, the President of Ami-Cult, Aditya Kumar Sharma presented the Vote Of Thanks followed by an open Garba Session. Hence, the club organized its 5th Traditional Day successfully with lots of fun and enthusiasm.
