Amity University Madhya Pradesh organizes the Closing Ceremony of Sangathan 2018 on 08th October, 2018

The month long sports events at Amity University Madhya Pradesh under SANGATHAN 2018 came to an end at a gala ceremony held in the university premises on 8th Oct 2018.
The ceremony started with the arrival of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma AVSM (Retd.), Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) M P Kaushik and other dignitaries. The sportsmen and women who had participated with zeal and vigour in the myriad sporting activities then marched past ceremonially to mark the closing of Sangathan 2018 at AUMP. This was followed by the presentation of Sangathan 2018 Report, briefing the audience on the events, medals, points tally and other details. The audience were informed that 15 events including Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Chess, Athletics, Football etc. were held. Both boys and girls of the University had participated enthusiastically in these games and bagged around 550 medals.
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.) gave away the Gold, Bronze and Silver Medals to the students and faculty members. After the Prize Distribution, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the students. In his address he said that “Sports is an integral part of student’s life. The students should pursue sports as a hobby and passion and stay fit.” He further stressed that,” If India has to gain leadership position in sports, the training should begin from schools, colleges and universities. AUMP has the potential, courage and grit to achieve laurels and would definitely make a mark in sports.” Hon’ble VC showed his happiness on a huge participation of girls in all the events. Finally he concluded his address by motivating the students, “Be in competition with yourself. Be the master of your own destiny.”
The event ended with vote of thanks followed by high tea for the participating students, faculty members and dignitaries.
