Workshop on Human Rights and Recent Trends in Constitutional Law

A workshop was organized by ALS on the topic of Human Rights and Recent Trends in Constitutional Law which was attended by 150 students and faculty members of ALS.

The workshop started with inauguration by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. D.S. Rao Sir. Further special remarks were delivered by Maj. Gen. S. Sridhar by a talk on Significance of Constitution. In the said workshop, the guest speaker, Dr. Arvind Tiwari spoke about the recent trends in Constitutional Law, issues in implementation etc. He also dealt with the topics of separation of power between the Executive and Parliament, federalist tensions between the states and the Union, judicial activism, and the Election Commission’s role. The session was concluded by open session of question and answers where students cleared their doubts related to the topic.

In the second half, 2 faculty members of Amity Law School presented papers on Child Rights and Sexual Minorities. Later students presented papers on various issues related to the Constitution. The workshop ended with a Valedictory Function. Overall it was a fulfilling session.
