Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrates its Eighth Raising Day on 19th September 2018

The eighth Raising Day of Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior was celebrated with gaiety and fervor on 19th Sept 2018.

The celebrations began with the arrival of the Chief Guest Mr Ashok Kumar Verma IAS, Collector Gwalior. The ceremonial lamp was then lit by the Chief Guest Mr Ashok Kumar  Verma IAS , Lt Gen VK Sharma, AVSM (Retd), Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Dr J Girish, Vice President RBEF, Dr PS Sali, Director Academics RBEF , Prof (Dr) M P Kaushik, Pro Vice Chancellor, AUMP and Dr Anil Vashisht, DSW , and HoI ABS. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor also formally welcomed the guests to the eighth Raising Day by presenting bouquets to them.

Thereafter, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP spoke of the journey of AUMP, its significant achievements and the road ahead. In his address the Hon’ble VC encouraged the students to prepare and groom themselves for the life ahead by inculcation skills and qualities like time management, communication skills, honesty, etc.

The Chief Guest of the day, Mr Ashok K Verma IAS likewise shared success tips with the students. He also spoke of the huge responsibility of the teachers since the students taught and groomed by them shape the destiny of the nation.   

The Chief Guest, along with  Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen VK Sharma, Dr J Girish , Dr PS Sali, Dr MP Kaushik and Dr Anil Vashisht then gave away the Academic Excellence Awards for the session 2017-18 as also the Dr. Ashok K Chauhan 100% ,50%and 30%  Scholarship Awards for the session 2017-18.

The anniversary issue of “The Amitian”, the monthly newsletter of AUMP was also released on this occasion. A short cultural programme followed, in which a dance- drama called Ladki was staged.  

Towards the end of the programme, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Amity University Madhya Pradesh Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd) presented mementos to Mr Verma IAS,  Dr J Girish and Dr PS Sali . The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Prof (Dr) M P Kaushik Pro Vice Chancellor AUMP.

During the celebrations, the guests also visited the exhibition of student projects, posters and pictures put up on the occasion in the three blocks of the University.

All HOIs/HODs and senior functionaries of AUMP. He also advised the faculty on developing classroom competence and developing empathy for the students.
