Amity School of Communication, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organizes on “International Conference on Child Rights in Digital Age” on 24th August, 2018

Amity School of Communication, Amity University Madhya Pradesh hosted another successful event on 24th August, 2018 that focused on extending the exposure of its students to the horizon. The Conference was about Child Rights in the Digital Age. Lighting of the lamp marked the grand opening of the first session which later witnessed the felicitation of the guests which included 24 foreign delegates from 16 different countries like Russia, Burundi, Zimbabwe to name a few.

The opening remarks were given by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd) which was followed by the Keynote Address, by Dr Anubhuti Yadav, Associate Professor of New Media from Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi. Further, Mr Abhishek Dubey, who is the founder member of Muskaan Dream Creative Foundation, Gwalior, spoke of the work of his organization related to child rights.

Every foreign delegate also had his or her time on the dais where they expressed his/her views on child rights in their respective countries.A book comprising of best-selected papers on Child Rights in Digital Age edited by Dr. Sumit Narula and Mr Aditya Shukla was released at the Conference. Apart from this the ‘Journal of Content Community and Communication’ ‘a first’ Scopus indexed journal for Amity University Gwalior was also released on the occasion.

The post-lunch session found all the foreign delegates and the various researchers from various part of the country, in the ASCO studio. Where again the Session Chair members, Dr Shilpi Jha, Associate Professor, GD Goenka University, New Delhi and Mr Vijay Gaur, Secretary-General, Bhagidari Jan Sahyog, Samiti, New Delhi were felicitated. The numerous researchers presented their papers in both English and in Hindi on Child Rights in Digital Age and some did so via Skype. The session indeed helped all of the audience to expand their minds. Later, the participants were awarded certificates, and the chief guests were presented with mementoes, to mark our gratitude for their presence at the event.

After the tea break, the conference moved to the Valedictory session an Mr. Navneet Bhasin (IPS), SP, Gwalior was the Chief Guest and he spoke on Child Rights and crime where he related his experiences on the subject and answered a few questions of the ever-curious minds of the students.

The concluding remarks were made by Dr M P Kaushik, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University. The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr Sumit Narula, Director, ASCO, AUMP, who was also the Organizing Secretary of the Conference and it was his guiding spirit due to which all the minor events were held that contributed to the huge success of the conference.
