Delegation from University of Birmingham at Amity

Office of International Affairs, Amity University Gurgaon welcomed Dr Alaric Rae (Deputy Director of External Relations & Recruitment) and Mr Carl Adaway (Regional Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and America) University of Birmingham, United Kingdom on 23rd November 2017 and Dr Sandy Gould and Ms Joelle from University of Birmingham, the United Kingdom on 16th November 2017.

Dr Gunjan M  Sanjeev (Vice President)  RBEF and Director International Affairs addressed the guests on the internationalization initiatives at Amity University Gurgaon which include collaborations, international campuses, study abroad opportunities and the diversity created by international students and briefed about the international content implement in academic process and pedagogy.   

On remembering his old days Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma proudly talked about his association with University of Birmingham as an alumnus and he looked forward at great partnerships between the two Universities in coming times.

Dr Alaric begins his session on focusing on, “Higher Education in a Global Environment” for students and faculty at Amity University Gurgaon. He had also talked about the role of Universities as it is getting more and more complex in global society this days and universities are not only tasked with conducting Research &Development and provide highly skilled workforce necessary for sustained economic growth but are also obligated to propagate arts, culture, sports and help society to wrestle with the local national and global challenges.

Dr Gould who visited on 16th Nov, delivered a talk on, “What is the Role of People in Computer Science?” for students and faculty from the Computer Science department of Amity University Gurgaon. The students were overwhelmed by the simplicity of the lecture explaining crucial and complex modelling of codes designing.

All dignitaries were felicitated with a memento by Dr. Gunjan M Sanjeev, Vice President-RBEF & Director International Affairs and Dr. Shalini Bajaj, Head of Computer Science Department.
