Amity Business School organizes a International Conference on “Innovation in Business Management and Social Sciences” on 03rd November, 2017

Amity Business School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized an International Conference on “Innovation in Business Management and Social Sciences” on 3rd November 2017 .

In the inaugural session that commenced at 10.30 am, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen V. K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.)   gave the opening remarks and spoke on the importance of innovation management. “Any business can only develop if they innovate with their products and bring new ideas”, he said. Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Chandra from University of Houston, USA was the Chief Guest who spoke about innovations in talent management and biggest “red flags” checks by recruiters which the candidate should avoid. Mr Rick Cran, Founder CEO of Cran Enterprises and Prof. (Dr.) J. D. Agrawal, Chairman, Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Finance were the Guests of Honor during the Inaugural Session. Mr. Cran emphasized on and spoke of the fourth industrial revolution which involves business innovation and transformational leadership. Prof. Agrawal in his keynote address stressed on the significance of innovation in business management by minimizing costs and offering quality and durable products.

Present on the occasion were Prof. (Dr.) M.P. Kaushik, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Madhya, Registrar, HOIs, HODs, Members of faculty and large body of students.

Around 82 research papers were received, out of which after the proper scrutiny, only 52 were selected to be the part of conference proceedings. The book of proceedings was released by the dignitaries in the inaugural session.

The inaugural session of the conference was followed by a technical session. Prof. (Dr.) B.K. Singh, Professor – BHU Varanasi, Prof. Ramendu Roy, Professor,  Allahabad University, Mr. Sanjiv Tipnis, Senior Vice-President and Plant Head, SRF Industries were the guests of honor in the technical session. The speakers spoke on the technological innovation in the recent times and how important it is for us to adapt to the change.

Parallel sessions were conducted in the afternoon in which research scholars presented their papers on different areas of management and social sciences. Mr. Sunil Srivastava, Senior HR Head, Britannia Industries, Mr. S.K. Bhargava, General Manager, Commercial, J K Tyres and Dr. Devendra Pandey, Associate Professor, Amity Business School, AUMP Gwalior judged the scholars on the basis of content , conciseness and research ideas.

 Prof. (Dr.) Vivek Suneja from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University was the Chief Guest during the Valedictory Session. In his keynote address, he spoke about artificial intelligence and how it can never replace the intelligence of a human brain. He emphasized on  importance of active  learning, field based learning and team learning.

The following were the major conclusions of the deliberation during the conference:-

All business innovation must necessarily result in increase of profits and wealth maximization through various parameters like product improvement, cost reduction, simplification/automation of procedures, reduction in time delays, problem solving and reaching new customers.

Factors like social media, new media, artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, virtual and reality tools, the threat of data breaks etc. could well influence business innovation.

As far as Social Sciences are concerned, behavior of employees, customer service and satisfaction, customer employment, easier and multiple payment options, use of user friendly apps, will drive innovations.

The conference concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, Director, Amity Business School and the Organizing Secretary of the conference.

The feedback on conference received was very encouraging and positive. The participants attending the conference were very happy about the deliberations and absorbed all the innovative ideas shared during the conference. Overall, the conference was a grand success as its outcome reflected very creative and innovative ideas in business management and social sciences.
