National Conference on Paradigm Shift in Business Practices and Technology by Amity Business School

A two-day National Conference on ‘Paradigm Shifts in Business Practices and Technology’ concluded on 24th January at Amity University, Chhattisgarh (AUC). Organized by Amity Business School, the Conference was attended by delegates from across the country and abroad.  Spread across five technical tracks over two days, the event had impressive turn out from the academia and the industry.

On the inaugural day, Chief Guest, Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM-Raipur, as chief guest for the conference made a thought-provoking speech on paradigm shift and its immense benefits garnered by business models that voluntary adopt such practices. He mentioned several instances from a variety of industries that understood the importance of paradigm shift and hence thrived for decades after adopting change in work culture. Those which failed to sense such “tectonic” shifts disappeared, he added.

As the conference progressed on day one, papers were presented on Marketing and General Management tracks which were chaired by Prof. Jagrook Dawra, IIM-Raipur, and Mr. D.K. Mohanty, President, HR Jayaswal Neco Industries Ltd., Raipur, respectively.

Economics, Finance and Human Resources tracks were held on day two, and were chaired by Padmashree Prof. Amiya Kumar Bagchi, Professor Emeritus Institute of Development Studies, Kolkata, Former Director, Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta, Mr. Nilesh Maurya, Director Investment Banking Omega Capital Consultants, and Mr. Nagaraja Kesavamurthy, General Manager, HR, GMR Power, respectively.

In the valedictory session, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Pandey, AUC, addressed the delegates, faculty and students. Chief Guest Prof. Bagchi, in his address, shared his experience at AUC. Dr Prithvish Bose, Associate Professor, (which department??) presented the conference report. A total of 64 papers were presented at the Conference. The best paper presentation awards were conferred upon Ms. Deeplina Banerjee, Faculty AUC, Amresh Ghosh, Research Scholar, CSVTU, Mr. Shubanil Banerjee, Faculty, AUC, Dr. Reshma Shrivastava, Faculty, AUC and Ms. Ruchi Gupta, Faculty, Kalinga University.

Dr Sumita Dave, Director ABS and Dean Academics, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to all participating and organizing members for their contribution in making the conference a successful and vibrant event.
