Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrates 70th Republic Day 2019

Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior celebrated the 70th Republic Day with great zeal and patriotic fervour on 26 January 2019.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd) unfurled the National Flag to the tune of the National Anthem and commenced the festivities of the day.

In his address to the gathering, Hon’ble VC urged the youth to participate actively in Nation building. He opined that cleanliness, respect for women, constructive sports activities, respect for elders and yoga are the major components of nation building for which every individual should strive. Hon’ble VC further added that students should try to become law abiding citizens and fulfil their duties towards taking the University and nation to an international platform. Concluding his address Hon’ble VC inspired the students by saying “Don’t ask what country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”

After the address of Hon’ble VC, the Voter’s pledge was administered by Dr Sumit Narula, Director ASCO, to encourage youngsters of the nation to participate actively in the electoral process.

To boost the morale of Support staff of AUMP, a few sporting events –“Manoranjan Khel” namely: Sack Race / Burst the Balloon/ Hoop Relay/ Drag the Glass (for female staff) were conducted in Male and Female category. The students, staff, members of faculty, Heads of Schools and Departments thoroughly enjoyed these sports activities and cheered the participants to boost their morale.

The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd.) along with the Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) M P Kaushik, Director (Admin) Col S K Sethi  gave away the prizes to the winners of “Manoranjan Khel” for supporting staff and Essay Writing Competition held on the occasion of Unity Day.

Keeping up with the tradition, sweets were distributed to the students and staff of the University. The faculty members, staff and students also had the privilege of having a group photograph with Hon’ble VC and other dignitaries on this National Festival.
