Amity Institute of Education (AIE), Saket organized a National Seminar on "Revisioning Teacher Education”

Amity Institute of Education, Saket organized a National Seminar on “Revisioning Teacher Education” at Amity Campus, Saket. The Seminar aimed to channelize the thought process of future teachers to help them contribute fruitfully towards the growth and effectiveness of their profession.

Teacher Trainees presented their views on various facets of teaching such as Accountability towards the teaching profession, Promoting reflective teaching and self development, Including moral dimension for teaching profession and Need for accreditation, evaluation and assessment.

Talking about the changes coming in the teacher training, Dr. Ranjana Bhatia- Director, Amity Institute of Education, Saket said that teacher education, during the past decade, has experienced significant changes. National and state attention to the quality of teachers, along with high attrition rates and external accountability systems, has added to the pressures for major changes in teacher preparation. And initiatives like this will facilitate the brainstorming and deliberations on the important aspects of teacher training which will shape not only the future of teacher education but also of the teaching profession.

The eminent panelists for the seminar included Dr. Anup Singh Beniwal- Dean, School of Education, GGS IP University, Delhi and Dr. Sistla Rama Devi Pani- Editor, University News, Association of Indian Universities.

Ms. Payal Tangri from Amity Institute of Education (AIE), Amity University Noida bagged the first prize. Ms. Anjali Mahendroo- Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education, Delhi and Ms. Swetlana from the host school received the second and third prize respectively.

Teacher trainees from various colleges of the Delhi/ NCR including Amity Institute of Education, Noida; Lalita Devi Institute; Delhi Teacher’s Training College; Siri Fort College; Lady Irwin College; Kasturi Ram College; Chetram Sharma College and IIMT, Karkardooma presented 38 research papers
