Amity School of Business inaugurated its Fourth Annual Managerial Fest AURA

Entertainment encapsulated with a dose of knowledge is what Business School of Amity rendered on its fourth annual two day management festival “Aura 2007- Knowledge is the Future Currency” which was kick started at Amity Campus, Sector -44, Noida with zeal and fervor under the blessings and guidance of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan. Aura is a convergence of ideas, a novel and grand platform where future leaders of the world will meet to aspire, to share, to compete and learn.

The action packed festival started with mellifluous Saraswati Vandana by the students of BBA.

Providing a bird’s eye view of “Aura”, Prof. Alka Munjal- Director, Amity School of Business said “Aura is the culmination of the passionate efforts of the BBA students to converge the intellectual minds and compete for various management and other events and the Grand OVER- ALL AURA Trophy.” She further stated said that creativity and innovations are the two energies which fuel the success for future managers and AURA 07 is an ideal platform for exercising creativity and experiencing the glory it entails.

Delivering the inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh, M.P from Bihar said that it’s really nice to interact with budding managers who are the future of the country. In this fast paced world the one person whose knowledge surpasses others, is the one who leave a legacy to be followed by future generations. Applauding the concept of Aura, he said “this kind of interactive platform will lead to the holistic growth of the students, which is indeed the need of the hour.”

The Guest of Honor, Mr. Naresh Gupta- CEO, ADOBE, while delivering his speech emphasized that students are the foundation of a country, they are the ones on whose shoulders lays the responsibility of developing the country. World economy is in a flux and in such a situation they need to contribute their mite in one form or another. Time to time industry interaction programs help the students to keep themselves abreast with the corporate working”. Stressing on the efficient use of time he quoted that a man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.

Speaking on the aptness of the theme of Aura’ 07, Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor- Amity University said, “The need of knowledge is accelerating at an exponential rate and the only sustainable competitive advantage of developed countries over developing countries is the knowledge capital”. He motivated the students to have a preference for sharing, staying connected, instantaneity, multitasking, to be responsive to the changing and volatile managerial practices and using technology in new ways.

Aura is wholly managed by the BBA students, from idea inception to management to hospitality, with the help of the industry in the form of sponsorship. There were nearly 47 sponsors and the patron sponsor was Brushman India. Among other sponsors were Planet Edu, Perfect vision, Business Today, Indo Optics.

The two day knowledge and entertainment galore will have a wide array of management and entertainment events including Opine (Just A Minute);Black or White (Tax);Born Supremacy (Strategy);Brand Republic (Brand Event); Supernova (the best Manager); The Grill (Quiz);Style Pot Pourri (Ramp Fashion); Show Time (AD-Mad);Sway (Choreography);Theatric (Dramatics) and Juke Box Live (Music Competition). Over 30 colleges from all over India are participating in Aura including KLE College, Hubli; Christ College, Bangalore; BITS, NOIDA; Punjab College; CMS , Bangalore; St. Xaviers, Calcutta; Amity Institute of Behavioral and Allied Sciences, Noida and ICFAI and will give tuff tough competition to each other.
