Politician – Bureaucrat Interface

Eminent politicians and bureaucrats participated in the panel discussion on ‘Politician-Bureaucrat Interface’ organized by the Amity International Center. The discussion opened with the eminent panelist Mr. Kalraj Mishra-Prominent Politician, BJP expressing his views on the topic: “Politicians and bureaucrats should work honestly and have the motive to do good for the nation. Bureaucrats should maintain harmonious relationship with the politician for the set goals. A good politician is one who is accessible, feels the pulse of the people, who can get to the problems and find solutions to them.”

Speaking on the occasion the second panelist Mr. Digvijay Singh-Member of Rajya Sabha remarked: “In India the politicians are voted not for their good deeds but on the basis of caste, religion and other considerations. The politicians should be responsible and accountable for their actions. It is only when politicians and bureaucrats go hand in hand that problems of poverty, unemployment and other issues may be tackled.”

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan-Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) who was appreciated for initiating the bold step of bringing together bureaucrats and politicians on a common platform stated that the seminar was organized to promote good governance and cultivate healthy relationship between the bureaucrats and politicians.

Delivering the vote of thanks Ms. Kiran Aggarwal, IAS (Retd.), Senior Vice President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) said “there should be refresher courses organized at regular intervals to bring together politicians and bureaucrats for updating them with the latest developments.” She further stated that new generation politicians and bureaucrats are emerging stronger and are more equipped to face the challenges.

The debate witnessed the presence of a large galaxy of bureaucrats including Mr. Shashank-IFS, Former Foreign Secretary; Shri K.P. Singh-IPS, Director IB; Shri Prakash Singh-IPS, Former DG; Shri V.K. Mishra-IAS (Retd.); Shri DNS Srivastava; Shri Ranjit Gupta-IFS(Retd.); Shri GPS Sidhu -IPS (Retd.); Shri Mahesh Prasad-IAS (Retd.)U.P.; Shri Arun Kumar-IAS (Retd.) and eminent scholars from all over the country.
